Seems DC United wants out of DC. They want a Stadium. Dixon wants to build a stadium to bring them to Baltimore City.

Across the water, south of M&T bank,in Westport. They have cleared abunch of land for a waterfront area for the stadium if it will be built. Not the best hood for it, but bringing a stadium there will improve the area alot.

I think it would be a cool idea. I still think Baltimore needs an NBA team though after the Bullets left for Washington...

they should just move the Clippers to Baltimore. Wouldnt have to change the name and I mean, Cmon, what kind of idiot in LA is a clippers fan over the Lakers?

Exactly, I know damned well that Baltimore would and could support a NBA team, easily, the area is crazy for the Terps, people would come to the games, no doubt. What ever happened to all this Arena talk??

1)I dont follow soccer, so I might be missing something but dont we already have a soccer team, the Baltimore blast?

2) How are they going to build a new stadium? What happened to the plans to build a new arena or was that just renovations? The Baltimore arena or 1st mariner, whatever they call it now is a piece of crap.

Edit:

If we build a new arena maybe the NBA would be more willing to move a team to Baltimore. Although, the sixers and wizards would probably fight it pretty tough. Baltimore is a pretty good secondary market for those teams.

Yeah, but what I have heard in the past is, if Baltimore makes a nice Arena fit for NBA standards.. David Stern has said, the NBA would award Baltimore their own franchise. It would be cool to bring back the Bullets. The Baltimore Ballers lol. We should have had it built earlier, the Super sonics would now be in Baltimore if we did, i mean c'mon..... Oklahoma City, OR Bmore...

Somebody needs to tell Dixon to forget soccer, an build an NBA stadium. Shoot, we'd even make her(nephew?)Juan Dixon a huge part of the team. :34853_brickwall:

I totally agree with everyone else. Soccer is ok, but I think the City/State would benefit from having an NBA team, It would also be cool to get a NHL team

Yep...building M&T really helped that area.... :lol3:

I am trying not to be political, but where will the city find the money? Plus, is there a VIABLE market. I say viable because when the novelty wears off, will there be enough hardcore soccer fans to support the stadium/team?
