Peter King Thinks Flacco's The Real Deal

18 posts in this topic

He is usually against the Ravens but him and everyone else in the NFL is seeing that Flacco is the real deal. Even though we lost to the Patriots at least they were in a position to win the game with Flacco leading the 4th Qtr comeback. Flacco even outplayed what Matt Ryan did against the Patriots

Oh and after watching the Vikings tonight we cant expect to drop easy passes and win the game. :34853_brickwall:

Who cares what Peter King thinks?

Flacco has been the real deal ever since he took us to the AFC Championship.

The only people in th eentire nation who do not think the ravens are the real deal is... drumroll please...... raven's fake fans! I find this extremely dissapointing. Our Ravens fans sound like they are actually watching the Orioles. And I have no reason why. Hey I ll just keep watching though. Maybe we will have a game where no one get any yards against us and on top of that we scroe with every possession. Maybe then we will be happy. Wow, I really feel sorry for these players who play for this city.

I respect Peter King's opinion even if he tends to follow the national trends more. He's a great writer and a likeable enough guy. He's one of the few national writers to have had Joe Flacco on his MVP watch list since Week 1, so that says volumes of the attention he's paid Flacco since last season compared to his peers on the national level.

Even though I've said time-and-again that we shouldn't care what the media thinks, it's always nice to read things like this.

[quote]b. Ron Winter's officiating crew had the worst day a crew has had all season in New England. From a ticky-tack roughing-the-passer call to two ridiculous unnecessary first-down measurements, to what seemed like a 10-minute delay for crew discussion and replay review in the fourth quarter. All of it made a long game agonizing.

c. Get ready for another week of the-officials-are-calling-too-many-marginal-calls stories. We're going to hear lots of grumbling from Ravens fans, and some in the media, who feel like Baltimore got jobbed Sunday. I know the guys in the NBC studio sure feel the Ravens got jobbed

The Vikings will deffinatly be a big test, I know it was a division game but if they play with that same fire, GOLLY! 8 sacks and stopped the run pretty well. Anyone know our record VS. 4-3 scheme teams?

Bingo. Keep in mind King is the guy who picks the Chargers for the Super Bowl every year. I can only guess he never got the memo about good 'ole Norv. Yes, he's a good writer and I'm sure he's a nice guy but if I want well written, good guy stuff I'll go read Garrison Keillor.

*sigh* I miss Dr. Z. He didn't like the Ravens either but at least he never waffled like this.

Whooo-hoooo. Actually....who cares?

We think we're the best, but we constantly crave attention and respect.

I think that's a bold generalization and really a case of, a few "bad apples" spoiling the bunch. You go out on a limb pretty often with statements like this, are you the Alpha Phan? Just think, other boards are the same EXACT way. Being on the PATS board most of last week, THE SAME MENTALITY WAS PRESENT. Chalk it up to ANY NFL team message board has a few crazies who take things too far...

I've been reading Peter King's MMQB since the season started and he's had Flacco in his Top 5 list of MVP candidates since Week 1.

No doubt - the writing has been on the wall. And with his strong performances so far this year, kind of have to be an idiot to say otherwise

hmmmm, Baltimore has been craving a great QB and to get the media attention for the Ravens that we feel it deserves and then, when we get that attention and it's about a great QB, we want to question the source? Let's take the compliment for what it is - but feel free to add a little "I told you so" for knowing last year that Flacco is the real deal.

It's been this way since last year, a lot of fans of rival teams that I talked to all had this to say about us:

"I don't like the Ravens, but I like Joe Flacco."
or
"The Ravens suck, but I'm impressed with Flacco."

So Flacco has been getting his props and respect from the fans long before the media outside of Baltimore started sitting up and taking notice before the playoffs.
