Problems With Pages Where Members Have Gifs In Sig

I'm using Safari and every time I go to a thread that contains a sig with a GIF, it basically locks up and does not allow me to do anything. Is there a way we can stop the use of these or is there something I can do?

Turning off sigs was the best decision I ever made. They are un-needed when viewing pages.

Next Question: Is there a way to turn off emoticons?

Not sure about the emoticons--its like a new toy the newness will wear off--, but the Safari issue with the gifs is a known issue with that browser.
