G'day From Your Newest Raven Supporter From Down Under

G'day from your newest Raven supporter, all the way from Down Under.

Hi. I have just decided to learn about your great NFL game.
And have chosen Ravens to be my team. "G'day to my now fellow Ravens"

Our Australian Football League has just finished and I am missing
it all ready, so I still need a footy fix, and figure if I learn NFL,
that will fill the gap for me.

I am just learning the rules and slowly getting there.

Bad luck about the game today. Watched it at 4.30 in the morning here.

I look forward to learning more & being a Raven for the rest of my life,
and hopefully get over there to see them play.

My Aussie sister is married to an American & has been living in
USA for over 20 years.
I have nephews & brother in law who live in LA.
I can never talk NFL with them because I do not know the game at all.
I want to secretly learn the game, without them knowing, and when I catch up
with them, give them some of my new knowledge about the game I know
and be able to contribute to the footy conversation.

I look forward to seeing The Raven have a good year and be in The Super Bowl
in my first year of going for them.

You sould be able to see the new Gold Coast AFL franchise then starting in 2011. Will be interesting to see how they go.

Yes I will love to come for a game. Looked at the Raven Stadium on Google Maps today and imagined myself walking in for the first time.
Was not sure what tailgating was, but my fellow Canadian work mate filled me in on what that meant. Fosters is not as popular in OZ as it used to be. Its actually more popular OS. I drink Coopers & Victorian Bitter so will bring a few samples of those for the tailgaters.

I love Italy too. Florence was my favourite place there. Loved my one and only visit to US in 2000 too. Been to LA, San Fran, San Diego, Las Vegas & New York.

Ya Sugar Gliders are mainly in the East & North. I am in the south of Australia. But I hear they are very popular domestic pets OS and bond well to humans and love the attention.

Maybe I should get a pet Raven.....lol

Now one thing that has come to my attetion on the Ravens website is that it was founded in 1997.

Well I am a passionate Port Adelaide Power supporter in Australia for our AFL
(Australian Football League).

We have been around since 1870, but that was just playing in our State League.
The Port Adelaide Magpies then formed The Port Adelade Power Club.

In 1997 we joined the major National League (AFL).

So Port & Ravens have been in for the same time. What a coincidence for me ah!!!
A good sign I picked The Ravens to be my team (with out knowing).

I see it took The Ravens until 2000 before they one Super Bowl.

It took us a bit longer. 2004 we won the Premiership, after being around the top for the 3 previous years.

We both have won only one, but lets keep em comin.

I actually work with a girl who is moving to Austrailia in 3 weeks and she to is a Ravens fan . Anyway man it is awesome that you want to support us from over there that is so cool . You have selected a good team , I will tell you this we hate the Pittsburgh Steelers , dispise the Indianapolis Colts and dislike the New England Patriots . There is some good down home Baltimore style information to get ya started . We will teach you all you need to know . The Indianapolis Colts used to be the Baltimore Colts until they moved there . They did Baltimore wrong on that deal but oh well we got the Ravens .

Thanks so much for the info

It is very important that I know who I have to hate the most of all the teams. I've just clocked that in. Colts, Patriots & Steelers - Boooooooo Hissssssss. I'm on it & starting to really feel like a Raven all ready.

If your working friend is a member of this forum, tell her I am now on it too. Would be fun to talk to another Raven fan in Australia.

Bengals have had good start to the year. Both teams 3 & 1. I am in a "Yahoo Pro Pickem Competition" here to help me learn more about the game & teams. Have picked Ravens to win of course. The first week I missed (0 out of 16), 2nd week 8 out of 16, 3rd week 11 out of 16 & last week 11 out of 14. So improving as I go along.

Oh ya and I have just familiarised myself with that the Bengals game is in the same division, which is more rivalry. So bring it on. Go Ravens. Cheers
