Aaron Wilson is reporting x-rays neg, he flew home with the team, MRI tomorrow. Apparently Mass Gens MRI would not fit Gaither.

Gaither (no s) had negative x-rays. It won't be nearly as bad as it seemed. Probably 1-3 weeks out, but what do I know? Ayanbadejo is the worse injury, he's likely done for the year.

Edit: Ah, one-upped by Moderator 2. Oh well.

I think Ayan can be replaced for the year but Gaither....we need him back before the last 5 games of the season at least, Oher can only handle so much right now.

We need that blocker for Flacco and the Raven offense...I noticed that our defense is seeing that the offense is coming to play games out...They have become soft they are not closing out games and leaving it for the offense...How many int's have we picked up in the last 4 games maybe like 3....They don't count against the browns because the browns throw the ball to everybody...

He'll be back soon. Even Harbaugh said it wasn't as serious as everyone thinks it is. Probably just a nasty stinger.

The Medstar Staff said on the radio this morning. That he will be fine. And even though doubtful, there is a chance he could play next week. But my guess would be 2-3 weeks.

But who knows. Landry was placed on the IR last year due to a similar injury.

I hope it's sooner rather than later. I could see a large difference in the pressure Flacco was seeing once Gaither was out of the game.

I'm not a coach in the film room, but from what I saw, Oher and Yanda filled in admirably once Gaither went down. This is exactly why we moved up to get Oher. The man is a beast.

Oher's should be able to take over Gaither if he misses the Cincy game. It'll be interesting to see how Oher and Yanda do against Odom and Geathers.

Yeah, from what i saw Oher did a FANTASTIC job filling in on short notice. i mean look what happened to the Packers last night when their starting LT wnet down. It went from bad to MUCH worse. I didnt notice a significant increase in pressure with Gaither out. Just seemed like we werent gonna be as effective running to the right with yanda vs Oher.

any updates on gaithers condition?
Same as before. But this is the latest info I found:

Aaron Wilson’s Twitter:
John Harbaugh said that Jared Gaither could play this week or possibly be out for a few weeks. He confirmed Ayanbadejo is out for the year

I hate switching players around on the O-Line, especially a rook who we're trying to groom into our long term right tackle, but I think he needs to be the guy blocking Odom, which I believe would make him the left tackle for the Cincy game. Odom's Probably the second or third hottest pass rusher in the league right now (behind Dumerville and Allen) and will cause us problems if we put essentially a guard on him (which is what GB did when their LT went down. Not a blueprint for success).

thanks purock. I thought i heard that somewhere else as well. But i was wondering, didn't they say he would have a MRI today, so that we can determine whether the injury is serious or not

He had the MRI done on Monday since he was too big to fit into the hospital's MRI test on Sunday. The MRI tests came back Negative.

Update time

Gaither wears a neck brace and is considered "day-to-day"

Good to hear. I doubt he'll play until after the bye. I'd rather have him healthy and 100%, especially after taking a blow like that.

update again:!

http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/blog/2009/10/gaither_great_chance_at_playing_sunday.html

i would love to see him play, but i prefer for him to sit out this week and def. focus for next week since we play Minn! but hey, if the man says he can play, then he can play.

I agree, I wouldn't mind seeing him comeback after the bye week. I think his is too valuable.

yeah man very true. He is now a game time decision, says coach Harb
I heard John Clayton say he was doubtful... which equates to a 75% chance of not playing.

Better to save him for Minny.

I felt so sorry for Aaron Rodgers. :(

The problem is that the Ravens could really use Gaither against Odom too.
