Merged: Media Vindicates Ray Lewis Comments

72 posts in this topic

Anybody else see the Ravens segment? They showed the clip of Ray talking about the BS calls and afterwords, Ex-Patriot Rodney Harrison had this to say about the pretty boy- "Tom Brady- if your listening, take off the skirt and put on some slacks. Toughen up."

That just made my otherwise crappy day just a little bit better.

Tony Dungy and Rodney Harrison agreeing with Ray Lewis' comments says a lot, especially Dungy, whose words hold weight in the NFL. Tom Brady was a little too enthusiastic after getting the flag on that particular replay.

That was what annoyed me the most. It was a terrible call and the fact that Brady expected the flag just makes it even more sickening.

Did the NFL forgot to inform the teams that this week there is no tackling/touching the QB's because of brest cancer awareness month!!

I liked Rodney's comments..!!

Suggestion to Chargers: Pls don't beat Colts if you get a chance as you don't know how to beat pittsburg or pats.

If anyone watched the Jets game, Brady was tryin to get the refs to make calls on them as well. I agree that those guys has pads on to so why not him'em? I didnt Flacco crying on them hitting him.....

OT: The Steelers are crushing the Superchargers. 28-0. Their next two games are against Cleveland and the Detoit Lions. Looks like they are going to be right back in the thick of things soon enough.

All these QB protection rules are just lame. Everyone on the team needs to be a football player and be able to handle contact. Just look at Sam Koch. He's a punter and made a great play against Dallas last year, throwing his body to the wind to make a play.

The way Tom Brady fell it was just so obvious he was drawing a flag, he barely got touched.

The protect-the-quarterback-at-all-costs set of rules have gone over the top. I know all the owners care about is making money, but it's ruining the game.

It's pretty pathetic when an ex-teammate and obvious pats homer calls out tom brady on national tv. This needs to be fixed but its obviously not gonna happen. Tom Brady will be flopping all season and will get every call.

I will agree that those calls were ticky tacky . however they were consistant .
there was an equily bad roughing the qb on the patriots. #99 mike wright on Flacco.
In week 1 vs. the Bills that patriots were the victoms of two such bad calls.
It has been consitant with the rest of the nfl as well. I will agree that you have to let these guys play but it is somewhat consistant tony dungy is nobody to talk he and his team have benifited from those types of calls for years With Poilian the crybaby .I bet he has the competion comittie on speed dial. fundemetaly we agree on this but that is the new nfl.

Well originalpatriot, what an opportune time to arrive on the boards.

No teams benefit from calls as much as the Patriots, Colts and Steelers do.

I disagree. Wright clearly hit Flacco in the facemask before dropping his hand. The refs called a similar penalty on Ngata at another point in the game. I don't like the rule but the ref were consistent in that respect.

However the call Suggs was complete b.s.

I absolutely could not agree more. I was just telling a friend of mine the same exact thing. Tom Brady is a sissy and always has been and always will be. Bill Belichek is the most sneaky, drop to any level of disgrace to win a football game plain and simple. The fact that the Patriots and Tom Brady draw as much revenue as they do to the NFL, it's no wonder they would totally NOT want to see Brady hurt again. I wonder why you all almost never hear anyone say anything bad about the Patriots?

I have to say when all of the "experts" are saying it's hard to deny our frustrations of bad officiating and these players get penalized it shows how corrupt the NFL really is. I think it would be downright awful to penalize the Ravens for giving us an officiating crew who can't call a fair game.

I thought Ray Lewis handled that commentary rather professionally. He really didn't come out and say it was the referees. He just emphasized playing football.

And I cursed at the announcer for saying, "Oh BTW the Ravens have never beaten the Patriots... blah blah blah." Thanks for the reminder. <_<

I saw Rays postgame interview and I agree with him; however, I believe we did not lose the game by the Refs. I believe we beat ourselves with penalties. Also, I believe that Ray speaks out when necessary and does not care about the fine.
