Remember when I said 38-0 vs. New England?.....

It's happening this week. The Ravens are going to come out Fired Up. Ray/Suggs will hit anything in their path. Reed is Mad too. Don't be surprised if you see Reed lay some wood on someone even with his neck injury this week. Joe Flacco is pissed and Mark Clayton wants to redeem himself. Let's not forget Harbaugh, I think he is going to fire this team up, him and Ray are th vocal leaders and I think our home team will feed off the anger from them and THE FANS! I expect it to be 10 times louder. Also I think Fabe/Fox have a lil something for Ocho Cinco. Ravens 38-0

Lol. Let them talk, fraud teams always get exposed.

They talk about exposing Flacco. He HAS been exposed. He's a very good quarterback! gasp! lol. There are a few idiots there saying they are going to beat us 52-3 ect..half of the posters on that board were probably too young to remember that Bengal's last playoff appearence.

I must say, I'm pretty confident this week. I know Cincy has improved but I still think they aren't a playoff team yet. Their gift victory over Pittsburgh was far from impressive, and they got taken to overtime by Cleveland who rivals St. Louis, Detroit, and Landover for worst teams in the NFL. Bengals homers will say that they are one miracle play from being 4-0 right now, but on the other side of the token they could have just as easily dropped to 2-2 last week. Our Dline should take care of business against their Oline and revert Benson back to the true non-factor that he is against good defenses. On the Offensive side of the ball, their D is better than last year, but I think it will be a challenge to just slow our offense down let alone stop it. I'm thinking Cincy keeps it close for a while but the Ravens pull away in the 3rd. I'm going 30-10 Ravens.
I couldnt agree more with everything you have said here. I believe that the Ravens will have their helments on straight after last weeks game. Im sure that the entire team has talked about all the negatives from the Pats game and have moved on. They realize the importance of this game.

The fact that the Bengals struggled against the Browns should be an indication that they are not quite the caliber team that the media has been trying to convince us they are. More hype to build ratings in my opinion.

I am not worried about our secondary against this group of recievers either. Yes they can be explosive at times, but they are very inconsistant. Palmer will probably have a decent game but I dont see him lighting up the score board. As long as we get strong, consistant, and contained pressure from our front four, we will come away with a few turnovers this week. Palmer has thrown for 6 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. His passer rating is 75.2. That is not very impressive. The offensive line is suspect if you ask me.

The Bengals defense has recorded 12 sacks and 5 interceptions which without a doubt is respectable. The only problem with that is they havent gone up against an offensive line like the Ravens. The Patriots sent more pressure last week than I have seen since last years AFC Championship game against the Steelers. Our offensive line stood up to that challenge pretty well. They only allowed 2 sacks. Yeah Flacco threw one interception but that was miscommunication not coverage.

The Ravens should be able to run up and down the field against the Bengals and we all know what Flacco is capable of doing. The defense will dominate the line of scrimmage once again and the streak will continue of not allowing a 100 yd. rusher. Expect to see our defense to create and capitalize on a couple of turnovers. Hopefully we can get some kind of spark from our Special Teams also.

Ravens win 28 to 13

I feel sorry for the Bengals. They are getting a Ravens team who is angry and have a chip on their shoulder after last weekend's loss to the Patriots. The Bengals are very lucky they are not 2-2 right now, they haven't put together full 60 minutes of football, most of their wins come in the 4th quarter or in OT. The problem they run into is this, Ravens dominated the Browns and absolutely shut them out, we made them sit Brady Quinn. They needed OT to beat the Browns. I expect Ravens to win by 14 or 17 points.

I agree the next two wins are important and huge. I'm not saying they are must win but 5-1 and sole possession of 1st in the AFC North is much better than 4-2 and tied with the Bengals or stuck in a 3 way tie for 1st with Pittsburgh and Cincinatti. I'm going to the game on Sunday so hopefully I can leave happy.

Final Score:
Ravens: 34
Bengals: 17

Hey Fellow Raven's Fans we might of lost a Heart Breaker to NE but we are going to Slap Cincy in the Mouth & go 4-1
but Dido on running the Ball A bit more.

As in the awarded female singing artist? :TVWatchingSmiley: Just kidding. I see Cedric Benson and Carson Palmer are banged up, the injury to Benson shouldn't help Palmer either.

To me, the division is divided. On one side, Pittsburgh and Baltimore - physical defenses, sensible football; on the other are Cleveland and Cincinnati. These teams have tried to adopt more of a high-powered offense approach, with Cincy improving its D this season and Cleveland regressing into possibly the worst team in the NFL. Let's remove Cleveland from the discussion, far too many issues there.

Ultimately, this game should signal whether Cincy's D has improved enough to be included in the race for the AFC North. I think we'll be too angry from last week and will return to what we do best - rushing, defense and clock control. Look for Cam to get Rice and McGahee involved early and often.

Passing may not be as easy as it appears leading up - the pass rush of Antwan Odom, physical linebackers and speedy coverage corners from Cincy will pose an interesting challenge for Joe - I'm sure he'll rise to the occassion. I would like to see Clayton have a strong game to rebound from last week and hopefully quell the critics for another week!

I finally understood why they kept Carson Palmer's brother on the team. He's a spitting image of Carson. If Carson gets injured they can suit up Jordan Palmer with Carson's Jersey and keep the defenses honest. Nobody would ever know.

OT: Is it me or does it seem like their hasn't been an influx of opposing team's fans on here this season? Usually Thursdays we are swarmed by opposing teams fans. Is it because they fear us?

Actually it seems like the chat during the week here has died down significantly over last year as well.

Topic: Has anybody watch the Bengals Fullback Leonard. That guy is a beast with determination when running the ball. He's a punishing back.

Every given sunday things can happen. I believe in the Ravens and i think they pull out a win but they have to Play like a Raven and not like a pass happy team. A balance of both ,when running is good thaen you run to open up the pass.Joe won't have alot of time to read his choice on sunday. Need Rb short pass let rice get extra yard, have other Rb pound the rock. Get TE work in didn't see much of heap, none of Smith need to get them involved in this game, get the ball out fast. Also i love to see the no huddle using it really keeps there defence on there heals. Defence needs to stop missing tackles and of course CB need to wack the ball out of Chad hands.Webb needs to give us better field position, and last but not least, penelties need to be cut down on ones that are legit Ravens need to play hungry.Reed need an interception for TD.

Hey gents, Bengals fan here. I'm stationed at Ft Meade about 20 minutes south of Baltimore, so I'm excited to finally see another game on TV.

On to some analysis...

The Ravens scare me this year. Plain and simple. Comeback Carson and the Cardiac Kids have been giving me gray hair. Brat, the Bengals OC, has already stated that he is moving away from what the Bengals were in 2005, which was a high powered top flight offense. This year, it's more of the traditional AFC N type of football team. The problem is, the play calling is a little bit too predictable. With Cedric Benson being in the top 5 in the NFL in rushing yards and holding the NFL season high this year of 29 carries in one game, it's obvious what the game plan is.

Run, Run, Pass. In this case, it'll be Ced runs for 3 yards. Ced loses a yard. 3rd and 8. There will be a lot of that in this game.

The defense, though, is looking amazing. With Gaither out ((I hope he's ok)) Odem will have a better chance of getting another sack or two. I see this being a defensive struggle, with the scores relatively close.

Additionally, just to get a response from you Ravens fans, I'm going to say:

There's a new Rey Rey in the AFC North!

I look forward to a good game.

I see us with a similar game plan this week for Cinn. as we used for the New England Pathetics. Marvins expecting us to run the hell out of the ball. I think more passing and less run in the beginning, will win this game for us. This should open the run up late in the game, so we can put them away. Cinn. has a very good D right now and Palmers playing on the dot. I see this being a harder game to win then the patsies game, but a WIN and maybe a kidnapping of you know who?

Finally a Bengals fan, and a respectable one for that matter. Glad to have you here.

It's quite obvious if your OC focuses on the run. The Bengals will have no shot in this game. It doesn't matter if Benson is leading the league or not.

Really you have to get the passing game going. And drag Chris Henry out of the dredges. Since he is a big target at 6'4"

Also Odom will not have a break if Gaither is out. Oher is switched to RT. And if you haven't watched Oher play yet, be prepared to not hear Odom's name at all Sunday. He will be silenced.

But anyways, I want to see a good game. I think the Bengals would still gain some credibility if they lose a close game. Getting blown out on the other hand, would be bad.

They will have to beat us through the air.

I think this game is going to be like the KC game, close but never really out of hand. But hopefully the secondary won't let that happen.

I'm not saying Rice and McGahee should lose too many carries but I really hope Cam gets McClain some touches in this game. He has nifty feet for a guy his size and when he needs to lower his shoulder, he does it very well.

About Zimmer - don't know him but that's obviously horrible.

About the game - I certainly hope Cincy is determined to establish the run. Yes, please run the ball - a lot.

First off: welcome to the boards. :)

You mentioned the "traditional AFC North" but isn't it ironic that the Ravens and the Steelers have both been looking pretty pass happy lately?

If the Bengals don't want to die a slow and painful death, they won't try that in this game.

Its not like we have been losing games. We lost a close one to one of the best teams in the NFL. Cincy is not the Patriots! We will be played hard but I suspect this game is going to begin to cement us as the Premier Force in the AFC

Hi, another Bengals fan here. Before I say anything, I'm very jealous of the mentality of the board. Everyone seems to be very civil, which is rare on the Cinci boards sadly :(

First off, this is going to be a huge game for both teams. I don't personally think it will be a shutout of either of ours, as in the past its usually been pretty close. For anyones who interested, the record stands as 7-5 under M. Lewis, with the Bengals in the lead. So again, it's a huge game which we should all be pretty pumped for.

One thing any long-standing Bengals fan will know is how we play, which is always at our best when we're A.) the underdogs & b.) against a very tough opponent. Case and point, the Packers and Steelers games from just this year. Cleveland is always a tough game for us, no matter what. I don't know why, it just is. I won't try and deny the fact that we played sloppy this past week though.

I see a lot of good match ups. Flacco is a huge threat, its incredibly impressive what he's done in such a short time. Odom will have his hands full with the Ravens O-line as well. I'm not sure who Leon Hall who will be on this week, but when it comes to passing, whoever is unfortunate enough to have him, they will not see the ball.

Defense, I really don't need to say anything about the Ravens D haha. Its one of, if not the best, in the league. Thats not based on numbers, just from watching over the years. It all depends on how our offense plays. Passing is preferred, as anyone will tell you against Baltimore and thats our real strength. We'll see how that pans out.

Anywho, as a Bengals fan and our determination this year, I'm gonna go with a win for us.

28 - 21

Regardless, whoever wins this game will take first place. And if we're so fortunate, Bengals will be 3-0 in our division, which is HUGE. Very very key game.

Yea that is tough to lose any member of your family, but to lose the person that you go home to every night, al man.

As for the game. It'll be a good one. If the Bengals play the way they have in all 4 games, then this will be a blow out.

The Ravens are not the type of team that you want to play poor for 3 quarters and then try to win late.

This will be their 3rd straight AFC North match up and I think it will take its toll.

Both the Steelers and Browns had opportunities in the pass game vs that Bengals defense. The Ravens has become a much better pass team and we still run the ball really well.

The Ravens offense has been really good at scoring touchdowns and not just Field Goals. I think Flacco missed a few throws in the NE game, mainly the potential TD broken up by Marriweather. I look for them to just continue to get better this week.

On the defense side of the ball the Ravens will have a test, but not one that will be too tough to overcome.

A lot of people has been down on our pass rush, but I feel we have improved week by week. The Ravens have still been blitzing, but most of our 10 sacks have come from a 4 man rush.

Two guys that played well last week and should help the pass rush if they suit up this week is Ellerbe and Kurger. Kurger just has a none stop motor rushing as a DE and Ellerbe looks to be a violent blitzer. There were a few times in the NE game he forced Maroney to step up and block him and he made him pay for it. Not many RBs will pass protect that well, so Ellerbe could see some sacks start to add up real soon.

The secondary has been playing pretty well also. Yes, the numbers say the Ravens are not a good pass defense, but we haven't been as poor as numbers would suggest.

Tom Brady attempted a total of 13 passes that traveled at least 10 yards or better. On those 13 attempts, Brady connected on 6 of them. He was 6/13 127 yards 1TD. That means 15 of Brady's 21 completions were short of the first down and all the Ravens had to do was tackle better.

What this says to me is that the Ravens aren't giving up big plays because of poor pass defense, its more because of poor tackling. More evidence of this is the fact that of those 6 completions that traveled 10+ yards, 2 were to TEs and they totaled 51 yards. Another was a catch and run 26 yarder to a WR covered by LBs in a Zone. So the Ravens didn't give up many plays down field, it was more so the short passes, followed by a missed tackle that lead to Brady's big yardage.

I counted 5 plays were the Ravens missed a tackle on a pass play that would have been short of the 1st down. Those 5 plays totaled 70 of the 131 pass yards that Brady had in that situation. So imo most of the problems defensively is because of poor tackling, not talent and the tackling will improve.

Now allow me to get back on topic here, with all that being said about the Defense, I can see us having a stellar performance at home vs the Bengals. We just have to tackle people on the first attempt and not allow those hidden yardage to pile up.

The Bengals have looked to there rushing attack more so then there pass attack, unlike in years past. I don't think they will have above average success running the ball against our front 7, so Plamer will be forced to win this game with his arm and I'm not sure he can.

The Bengals defense is young and fast just like the Pats and that will be the lone reason why the Game will be competitive early, but they won't hang with us for long. The Offense had some opportunities against the Pats D and if given the same chances Sunday, they'll take advantage imo. Remember it was a Flacco int before half and a missed chance to hit a wide open Mason in the endzone, that stopped the Ravens from gaining control of that game. I look for us to connect on those plays this game.

If Gaither can't go, I look for the Bengals to come after Flacco even harder. However I think Oher and Yanda will do just fine, so look for Flacco to have some chances down field.

I hope Webb can provide a spark in the return game. Carr has been solid, but the fumble really set him back. I hope his demotion will light a fire under him to perform better as a punt returner. It's almost like he stopped working hard on his special teams play, since seeing more time as a nickleback. Hopefully he can get back to doing what made him appealing in the first place and that is as a returner.

I look for the pass rush to harass Palmer all day and Palmer who has thrown 5 picks in 4 games, will have at least 3 turnovers in this game.

This game might end up being the most complete performance the Ravens have had so far.

The AFC North is up for grabs, but this game will really be no contest. Ravens win big.

That link isn't working for me... I wonder how the Bengals are against third down conversions. I think Denver is number one, but I'm not sure about Cincy... whatever, we'll win. We have too.

Edit: now the link is working... hmm, I think I'd have to say that Eli Manning is the most efficient. He has two tds, but no interceptions. Joe has 2 ints, the most until you get to guys like Matt Stafford and Tony Oh-no.
