The 3-1 Ravens take on the 3-1 Bengals In Baltimore. All week 5 talk here. How do you think we match up on Sunday? Carson Palmer can pick a defense apart if given time. Odom on the Bengals looks Impressive. Thoughts?

To me, the Ravens match up very well against Cincy on both sides of the football. Cincy has a good, young defense but the Ravens have enough weapons to attack them on the ground and through the air. As good as Odom has been, a couple of screen passes to Rice will slow him down a bit. Benson probably won't be able to to do much on the ground so it'll come down to pressuring Palmer which I think the Ravens can do.

I think it will come down to our secondary again. We have to figure out why there is a lack of communication.

I think Baltimore will take out some of there frustrations on Cinn.Remember we do have good running backs...Put them in use more than what we did against the Pats.

Hey guys, I was on last year for the bengals/ravens game.

Friendly bengal fan here just giving some insight on what you should expect from us.

First off, you guys put up a tough fight against the Patriots and I commend you on that. Secondly I hope Gaither is all right. My thoughts are with him as he was an important piece to your line.

Now onto my team. Carson really struggled today and I really don't think his ankle is 100%. He made some poor decisions and our receivers also weren't in sync with him. Yes our defense is fairly good, but we played horrible against the 32nd ranked offense. We made the necessary stops when we needed to but the rest was just all bad.

The special teams play was even worse. Brad St. Louis (long snapper) has botched 5 snaps already. Cost us a blocked field goal and an XP.

Your team is the toughest challenge we face right now and we'll find out if we're truly for real or just got lucky.

In the end, I feel our defense will play better but won't be able to contain Flacco.

Baltimore: 21
Cincinnati: 10

Feel free to ask any questions

I had picked Cincinnati as my sleeper pick for this year but I think they are meeting up with the Ravens at the wrong time, especially after today's game.

I do expect the Ravens to come out mad & fired up, and being at home will only increase the matter.

I do think the Ravens will pull this one out.

Ravens by 13.

cleaveland loses and this is news why?

Try reading the original post. This is a week 5 discussion thread.

I feel good about next week...I can see Cinci being tough on the road but at home I think we've got the clear advantage. Especially considering how hungry our guys will be after what happened today.

Quality post my man. I see us coming out fired up like everyone else is saying. Should be a great day for Football. Bengals are very talented, we can very well lose this game if are heads are hanging low from this loss in NE. Its why I made this thread, get our minds off this week and ready for WEEK 5 BABY! :ravensquote:

I hope we come out and thump Cincinnati. This is our division and we take no prisoners, especially after this tough loss. I look forward to a strong, sensible performance from the Ravens.

Let's get back to our roots. Rushing, defense, clock control. Cincinnati would prefer an aerial game I'm sure, plays into the hands of their strong passing game.

While I never like to look past a team "especially a divisional rival", I can't say that I'm that worried about Cincy coming into Baltimore.

They went into overtime against a team that we had beat by halftime last week. Could they beat us? Sure they could. Will they? I don't think so.

IMO, this game got a lot worse for Cincy when we lost the New England game. I think seeing us lose yesterday was probably the worst thing for any opposing team coming into Baltimore next week.

It's pretty crazy when our team loses a game and in turn it gives them more confidence going into next weeks game. Every once in a while you have to taste defeat to stay hungry!

Welcome, The Brick.

Hold on a second while I assimilate you into becoming a Ravens fan. :borg_assimilation_faces:

[Heh. Sorry, we just got some new emoticons to play with.]

Nice post and congratulations on your team's great record so far. I do think, like others have said, that the Ravens' loss this past week will rile them up for this game. Either way, it certainly will be an interesting game. I think the Ravens will come out ahead, but the Bengals are looking tough, so who knows? Good luck in future games [just not ones against the Ravens ;) ]

I'm not looking forward to the onslaught of Bengals fans. In my opinion, they are probably the worst guests. Especially when they have something to be cocky about.

Look out....and don't feed the trolls.

Cincy is a good challenge for us right now. This isn't going to be a easy win by far. However, we lost a close game that even though we played bad at times, we had some positives in the game as well. We have a bad taste in our mouths and to me, this team is too proud to let another game slip up right now. This is a division game and we are home. The players are focused and I we learned alot about our team from the Pats game.

I've said, win or lose, if our team played a competitive game throughout, then there's no worries from my book.

However, I do like the way Cincy is playing too. So, let's get this game on the roll.

I hope we beat the Bengals I will be at the game so i dont want to leave with a loss:)

Yeah, I'm going to this game also. Don't go to alot of games, 1 maybe 2 a season. So it really stinks to watch us lose a game at home live. Last time i watched us lose a home game live,,,was to the Bengals.

I really think that by try to get into a shoot out with the Pats, was our down fall. Pound the Rock (because we can) and Palmer will be on the sidelines for most of the Game. This will make them one demensional and then we can fly after Palmer with abondon.

totally agree with you there needs to be balance in running and passing, clock control, short passes to rice in the flats, screens and of course the long one when it's open. Heap often and early, Washington, mason , clayon, LJ smith,3 headed monster. Hard hitting, smash mouth PLAY LIKE A RAVEN football.

I agree withe everything you said but L.J. Smith? He needs to stay healthy for consecutive plays first.

GIVE THE BALL TO LE'RON MCCLAIN MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why are we not even using him this year? We are trying to pass to him?! Let's get back to our 3 RB committee, and we win this game.

This has trap written all over it. I know it's a home game, but will good cinci or bad cinci show up. The Ravens are in a real danger of going 3-3 by the break. The Vikings are a no joke team, in Minnesota. I have a BAD feeling about this. If the Ravens beat cinci., then a little momentum may be enough to get a win in Minn. However, this is a big test for cinci. They can come out and beat the Ravens because they are playing for the number 1 spot as well. It's purely an irrational gut feeling, but I still have it!
