Best O's Game Ever...

8 posts in this topic

Well it was for my son anyway. Got the tickets for Friday as a Bday present from my grandmother. Took my son with me. Dad called the ticket office(knows the boss) and hooked me up with a warehouse parking pass. Got there at 5 and messed around for a half hour. Went in at 530, watched Batting practice, took him over to throw some balls and play in the bouncehouse(He was the first one there). Then it starts to get good.
Our tickets were for section 330, but we sat in section 22 cuz the place was empty. Around6 some guy sits next to me and asks me a bunch of questions and basically chooses my son to go on the field and get an autographed jersey from a player, which he does.
Of course, the O's won the game 13-3, including a grand slam by Aubrey. There were fireworks after the game, and to top it all off I caught him a foul ball right behind the O's dugout in the 8th inning right b4 the rain delay.

So, to recap.
Go on field and get autographed jersey from player
catch a foul ball
O's win, and score a bunch of runs
Awesome fireworks after the game

needless to say he cant stop telling everyone about it.

Damn, your kid's lucky. :)

I'm hoping to do the same one day with my kid (when I start having kids, anyway...) but with a Ravens game. I feel as if I'll need to get my kid into football by actually taking them to a game, since that's how the bug got started with me.

I'm already mapping out in my head how I'll plan out the day and everything. I'M SCHEMING!

Wow! How old is your son? You could not dream up a better first time experience than that. That is every mans dream come true. One for the memory books huh? Glad you two had a great birthday present. Enjoy forever!

he's 5, and altough it wasnt his first game, he was too young to remember the first one, so Im sure he'll remember this forever.

Funny part is, with him being so young he was more excited about the cotton candy than the jersey thing. And with us getting there so early he was begging to leave by the 2nd inning. Once all the scoring started he was into it again though.

Got the jersey and a letter of authenticity in the mail yesterday. That jersey must have been washed and used many times before we got it, because its extremely soft compared to a new jersey... So cool, it just so happens to fit me like a glove...But I think Im gonna leave it hanging on the wall.

I'm glad you had such a good time. I went to one baseball game with my dad and I have to say, I was never so bored in my life. Of course, he didn't get me a jersey.

I love taking my girls to football games. My father in law is a big Redskins fans, so every year we usually make it to at least one game from each team. This year was especially fun as my youngest has a little crush on Hauschka.

lol, yeah baseball can be boring at times, but when there are 20 runs scored its a pretty good night. I dont know when i'll take my son to a football game. Hes 5 and doesnt have a very large attention span. Not to mention the plethora of drunk Aholes at football games. Hes gonna have to wait till at least 12.
