Week 4 – Baltimore Ravens At New England Patriots

1,909 posts in this topic

Ok, now that I'm calmed down let me try this again. Sure we might have lost the # 1 seed with this loss but let's look it at this way, I'll take the loss now and if we see NE in the playoffs, thats when I'll gladly take the win. We need to get a big reciever, and I don't mean a playmaker I'm talking someone who is 6'2 or taller who can have the height advantage. We also need a 6'1 or 6'2 Corner who can battle with recievers like Moss and Vincent Jackosn and other tall recievers.

Now Hopefully next week when the Bengals come to town we can take care of them and dominate the game. Ok, we destroyed Cleveland, Cleveland took the Bengals to OT to win the game which should make next week pretty good. I think the Ravens D will be playing harder than before come next week. We need to get this victory next week, and I definitly think the Vikings game just became a MUST WIN as I thought it was important for the Ravens to come out and win 2 of the 3 early road games. We came up with a huge win in SD, and so if we can take the Vikings on the road I'll be happy with 5-1 going into the bye.

I don't know, it's debatable I guess.

Wasn't his interception due to a wide out, Clayton I think, breaking off his route early? I was making lunch during that drive, so I only caught the end of it.

I really wouldn't let this get anyone's hopes of us against "good" teams down. It was a "good" game that did come down to the wire. Had the Pats dominated us, I would say maybe we should be worried, but that was not the case. There were alot of sloppy penalties, yet we still hung in there until the end. I'd say that bodes well.

couldn't agree more with this.

Been at work all day.. As soon as Clayton dropped the pass I got like 5 texts.. Had to check the replay and yea that drop is completely inexcusable .. I don't care who u are u have to make that catch in high school .. This is the NFL..

I'm one of the biggest optimists on here but I'm getting tired of Clayton ... Way too inconsistent

I am disgusted with the play today. While I thought the offense played well, our defense played horrible. We let brady march down the field and score everytime. While the penalties were bs calls, we should know that tom brady is a like a protected species. Given that fact, it is what it is. We should have known going into the game we were up against all odds. we were not only playing the patriots, but we were also playing the officials.
The secondary is completely out of sync. Foxworth is begining to convince me that he is one of the worst acquisitions the team has made in recent years.
Im starting to see a team we had when testiverde was here....a great offense and a terrible defense.

Oh c'mon, the problem with the secondary is not Fox. And the defense is not terrible, it's just not Ravens defense. You're overreacting. Fox has played pretty well so far.

You're calling Foxworth the worst signing...when we also signed Carr the same year. Really?

i am not saying the defense is horrible. i am saying they played horrible today, and i hope im not the only one seeing signs of the past. I hope we learn from this a grow stronger. because as i sit here and watch the steelers game....without #43, i cant imagine what our fate will be when he returns.
now about foxworth.....every game he is being burned for touchdowns. its like watching mccallister all over again.

Guys im watching the game on tape, late to the party had to work but what was up with that pick off by Bodden? He mauled Clayton well past 5 yards off the line of scrimmage holds him for a sec as Clayton continues on up the line and sures up the pick and keeps his feet inbounds, but wasn't that holding, initiating contact after 5 yards, something?

YO ANYONE???!!!

Oh man, I've finally calmed down enough to be able to post here without getting insta-banned. First off, the final score should've been Baltimore 21 - NE 13. The HORRIBLE "roughing the passer" calls are BS like Harbaugh said! The NFL needs to examine the rule because it seems like a few QBs are over-protected. Favre, Brady, Manning brothers are damn wayyyyy tooooo protected. You cannot sack these overgrown ken dolls without drawing a 15-yard flag. Listen up Mr. Goodell, you either protect all the QB's or you don't! It's very simple, you cannot have different levels of rules depending on the player. Poor Joe Flacco was massacred today by the NE D and not one "roughing the passer" call! Doesn't make sense. Right now, it looks like the league if favoring certain teams .... remember the "Brady Tuck rule" from a few seasons ago? Enough said.

Secondly, we're 3-1 and still in good shape. This was a tough loss but the Ravens are an amazing team and will bounce back.

GO RAVENS GO!

we got a roughing the qb call, but playing the Patriots in Foxborough they get favorable calls your job is to win convincingly.

I was at the Monday night game two years ago where the officials made horrible calls, so I wasn't terribly surprised to see more of the same yesterday. As much as I think the new rules for overprotection of QBs are undermining the essence of football, I wouldn't be mad if they were enforced consistently. Where were the calls for the late hits on Flacco?

Oh wait, he isn't the NFL's pretty boy, so he doesn't get the same level of protection. The NFL needs to stop being concerned about TV ratings and let defenders make plays. If Brady can't take hits, he needs to get off the field.

Oh man, I can't wait to be at M&T next week to hear the crowd boo the hell out of Clayton.

I'm mad at Clayton, but he still dons the purple and black last time I checked and I, for one, won't boo him.

It's called Illegal Contact, and the refs are woefully inconsistent when calling it... I think the NFL needs a new VP of Officiating because Mike Pereira isn't doing his job.

Mike Pereira has been actively searching for his replacement for two years now since announcing his intentions to retire. Because he still hasn't found a suitable one, he's stayed on temporarily. I think he's year-to-year now.

Perreira almost always sides with the refs anyway. There were numerous calls against us that were questionable and many calls for us that were not even made! The illegal contact Bullit was talking about, the PI in the endzone near the end of the game, the roughing the passer when Gaither was injured. All BS. And the penalty against Harbaugh! I've seen coaches say worse to officials before and not get penalized. All he told the official is that it was a BS call. That game really pissed me off. And it wasn't because of our play. We played well for the most part. Our defense is giving up way too much yards though. I haven't seen the stifling Ravens defense of times past. I know guys are frustrated with the Clayton drop, but he rarely drops balls. If we're honest, it's because some of his bad plays come at the most inopportune times they are magnified.Note to other fans saying the Ravens should stop crying about officiating: The Ravens are the most penalized team in the league, most with 4 roughing the passer calls, all of which were questionable, except the JJ blow the the head against KC. It's about time the complained about it or this won't stop. How are we supposed to be successful rushing the passer if every time they get a roughing penalty. I think it messes with the players mentality. How is it that you get penalized for being blocked into the QB? How is it that Ngata gets called for going after the throwing arm of Brady but grazes his helmet. That was not a "blow" to the head. Right afterwards Brady shoves his own helmet as he is falling to the floor to make it seem worse to the refs. He so pandered to them during that game. It was ridiculous. I lost a lot of respect for Brady after that game. You guys complain about faking in soccer. Maybe you should be concerned about it in your own sport.
