Orioles exploring renovations to Camden Yards

"We're not planning to do anything radical — just some tweaks. We don't want to lose any of our prime seating, and we don't want to lose any of the picturesque quality that makes Camden Yards stand out.

Camden Yards is held as the standard-bearer for a lot of the newer ballparks. A big part of the attraction is how the stadium has stayed true to its classic ballpark roots, something that Oriole fans have long appreciated while resisting significant change to the facility. Smith said that the team is very mindful of that while discussing any major changes to the ballpark.

So Showalter started out 4-0 and finishes up 34-23 since he took over.

Now question if Showalter was 34-23 from mid-season on, what would 34-23 translate to if it was a full 162 game season?

66-94 Final Record interesting.

Roughly if you use this pace 34 wins for every 57 games we coulda been on pace for 102-103 wins in a full season if we played like that from start to finish

Damn.... can you say Playoffs!

If we can at least challenge for a AL Wild Card spot next year I'll be happy, anything after that will be a Bonus

Yeah that's true lol maybe I should have said .500 lol. If the O's can make a good off-season acquisition, either trading for Prince Fielder, or picking up a top FA Hitter, we may be a good team next year.

Well we'll see if we can stop the Rays early as our first regular season game is on the road in Tampa with a 3 game series, than the Home Opener opens up a series against Detroit.

I'll take 3/4 to end the year. Now, Angelos needs to open up his wallet and bring in the 2 big boppers we need in the middle of the lineup to protect Nicky and Co.

Carlos Pena would look good in orange and black
He would. I wonder if he'd come here though.

I'm hoping for someone like Berkman or Konerko.

I am hearing from Britt Ghiroli that some players have said they are more interested to come to Bmore because of Buck.

'We're not ruling anything out,' president of baseball operations says of team's offseason efforts

EXCERPTS:

Still, MacPhail remains bitterly disappointed with the 2010 season, which ends Sunday. In what was supposed to a year when the team emerged from the rebuilding process and started significantly improving on its win total, it will finish with 95 or more losses for the second straight season and for the fourth time during 13 consecutive years of losing.

While MacPhail called the club's strong finish encouraging, he has to evaluate the season as a whole, and the fact remains that for three-quarters of the 2010 campaign, the Orioles had the worst record in baseball.

I'm glad MacPhail is bitter about the season. It should be spur him to make aggressive(and hopefully successful) moves in the off-season.

I understand the season was tough. And I'm not going to sit here and admit that this year was the happiest for me. But when you look at our record after Buck started coaching, there is hope for us next year. Hopefully we can keep Scott or pickup another big bat in the lineup.

next year should be a lot better
