Okay. :)
I understood your opinion. There are many Russians in USA, aren`t they?
ravens27. Yeah, inspite of that fact that there is CHL in Russia (league, where Jagr, Thornton and many stars, especially from Russia, like Kozlov, Fedorov and etc play), people follow NHL, and NBA too... As for me, i watch only NHL, because the level in NHL is high, and after national league matches i can not watch russian hockey, that bores me...
Well, there is olimpic games in Vancouver soon, then Russia will beat every country i hope in hockey :))) after two wins over Canada, and with Ovechkin and Malkin and Kovalchuk... =)
To tell the truth, i can`t remember why i became Ravens fan... seriously, i don`t remember.
May be because of Baltimore, where Phelps trains, may be i saw Ray Lewis and he impressed me, may be because i learnt that Ravens have the strongest defense...
До скорой встречи, друг! :)

Good luck to you ;)
I remember when Jaromir Jagr played for the Capitals, he was a lot of fun to watch.

До скорой встречи.

Just heard that Dave Trembley will be back at the helm next year. Do you think he is the man to move us into contention? I am not sure but since the break we really stunk it up. Granted we had some injuries, brought up some young guns, and traded away some good talent, but man I dont want to face the unlucky 13 in a row with the same sloppy skipper. Time to bring in a real coach. :34853_brickwall: :34853_brickwall: :34853_brickwall:

It would be dumb to fire Trembley right now.. not when youngsters are coming up from the farm. It's not like he had any talent to work with either, so if we were to fire him, it'd have to be after he'd had some talent to work with. But during the transition for the young players to majors, I'd say keep the staff intact.

you know that is a good point I never thought of it like that.I just think long time O's fans are tired of the losing so we hope to find the quick solution,All I have been hoping for the last few years was to get back to .500 and maybe not be the cellar dwellers.

the Baltimore Sun is reporting that tickets will be more expensive if you buy them the day of the game,so walk ups will pay more this year...the Orioles are the 11th team to do this but with our falling fan support in the area is it a good idea?

I think this is a bad idea. Us O's fans suffer enough each season. I love the O's, but I hate to see them loose.

wouldn't put it past them or possibly could still be a trade tool, but between Reimold,Pie,and Scott we have rotation plus Pie can play center.

I think we could finish above 500 this year. What would your 2010 Opening Day lineup be? Mine is Below.

C - Matt Weiters

1B - Garrett Atkins

2B - Brian Roberts

SS - Cesar Izturis

3B - Pick up someone

RF - Nick Markakis

CF - Adam Jones

LF - Nolan Reimold

DH - Luke Scott

Andy MacPhail’s plan coming together for Orioles

By John Tomase / Around the AL East

While the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays are rightfully viewed as the Red Sox’ chief competition in the division, the Baltimore Orioles have very stealthfully, and quickly, laid the groundwork for what could be a long-awaited Camden Yards renaissance.

Since Andy MacPhail became president of baseball operations in June 2007, the Orioles have transformed themselves from perennial doormats to a team with a plan, and that plan could start bearing fruit in 2010 after a series of shrewd offseason acquisitions.

I forgot to put my SP. I would add Kevin Millwood in that slot. I'm curious about the Pie situation. Do you think the second half of the season was luck, or do you think he figured things out at the MLB level?

We have developed some good players. MacPhails plan is a good one, but it seems like it is taking forever.

Atleast our pitching rotation shows some promise this season. Here is my projected pitching rotation.

1) Kevin Millwood
2) Brian Matusz
3) Jeremy Guthrie
4) Brad Bergesen
5) Chris Tillman

Thats a hell of a lot better than the guys below who started some games last season.

David Hernandez (could be a good relief pitcher.)

Koji Uehara (will make a good relief pitcher)

Jason Berken

Rich Hill

Adam Eaton (big disaster)

Alfredo Simon

Mark Hendrickson

I was just listing in no particular order. I do agree with your rotation. If these guys can step up and play a whole season, I think we can finish atleast 500. Pitching is so important.

Remember Adam Eaton last year? He was painful to watch. He had only one good start with us.

I am rather annoyed to read that the Orioles are raising ticket prices, and essentially punishing those of us who want to go to the game at the last minute. It seems like the only way you can buy tickets now is to show up at the box office ahead of time and buy tickets, or buy one of their multi-game plans. I'm now questioning if I am even going to bother making the drive to Baltimore if I'm going to get nickeled and dimed when I go to the stadium.

They did? What's their justification? What high-priced Free Agents have we brought in? How many AL East Titles have we won the past 12 years? How many winning seasons have we had in that same time period? The answer is ZERO, and for them to raise ticket prices is criminal.

What would you all think if we brought Miggy back... and Bedard?
I would take back Erik and Miggy right away. Erik would help our young staff a lot, and I think Miggy is still productive this part in his career. Miggy played well the last 2 seasons in Houston.

I know exactly how you feel. For a team that should be embarrassed by how they have played the last 12 seasons, they should be giving us fans free tickets for suffering through this crap.

like blackdog said this kills the walk-up rate mind you it's 1-5 bucks more depending on the seat.....but I feel that's how alot of our games are people are out and about and they decide hey let's go to a game.Thats where the ticket increas is if you buy a ticket on the day of the game past 11:59 am i want to say..
As for Miggy and Bedard was a little against bring Erik back because of his negativity towards Baltimore, and Miggy at third would work well Miggy and Wiggy lol..and yeah if Erik wants to come back sure he can help out the young guns like stated earlier

$1-5 might not sound like a lot, but a family of four is now out up to $20! It's also the principle of the thing. The product on the field doesn't justify an increase in ticket prices, especially considering most of the team is made up of rookies and young guys who are making the league minimum. I know we spent a ton on Kakes and B-Rob, but this just doesn't make sense to me.

If Miggy would come back and play third and we added Khalil Greene, I would be ecstatic. We're also in need of a legit ace, so I'd be happy to see Bedard back, too.

If we added Miggy and Greene, our lineup would be SICK

1. Roberts
2. Jones
3. Markakis
4. Tejada
5. Wieters
6. Atkins
7. Reimold
8. Scott
9. Greene

You got that right, and besides that fee, they're also raising the base ticket prices for "premium games" by 10%. That will not go over well with my Red Sox loving priest (don't be too tough on her, she was a fan for many many years before they broke the curse).

Anyway, I especially don't like it because as it is I can't stand the "convenience fees, fees to have a server print a ticket, and do me in the butt without lube" fees that Ticketmaster likes to charge on top of the price of a ticket if you buy online or over the phone. I prefer to walk up so I can avoid those fees, and now they're taking that away from me unless I decide to plan ahead.

I think this year I might be visiting more Baysox and Nationals games because I will spend way less on gas and tickets to visit them, and not get hit with stupid fees for walking up the night of the game.
