It was a tough loss. Theo made some incredible (some lucky) saves in the OT PK.

They have to start winning at home and turn up the powerplay. Our PP is looking dead.
I'm going to give Theo alot of credit. He's made alot of great saves, not just tonight.

I think they have to start winning period.

:34853_doh: Have they done anything on any of the 2man advantages? Other than sending someone to the box, that is.

5 straight wins. And just like both my sports team we are still behind Pittsburgh.

I was impressed with Theo last night. I'm usually a Theo basher, but he made some great saves. Let's see if he can do it over the long run.

Theo did play well... The line of Ovechkin, Backstrom, and Semin is ridiculous.

I'm going to my first Caps/NHL game on Saturday, November 7th, and I can't wait. A friend of mine has season tickets and offered to take me.

First one, huh? You'll like it. Hockey is a great sport to go watch. Hopefully they score a lot of goals while your there.

Make sure you wear red too.

Ok so if you are going to be arrogant like that than I will be arrogant and say that the Capitals are good because of all the crap years they've had. It's just hilarious that it took them this long to get it together. They've been horrendous since they entered the league up until what after the lockout? Why don't you go take a look and see how many first rounders play on that Crapitals team and you'd be surprised. For people babbling about Crosby the only reason people call him Cindy and all this other crap is because he would complain a lot his rookie season and hasn't done it since. There is not a better all around player than Sidney Crosby, so you guys just have to get over it. The comments about Lemieux are brutal as well if you knew the team owed him MILLIONS of dollars from his playing days which is why he owns part of the team.
What planet do you live on? Sidney Crosby is the biggest baby in the NHL. They only people who disagree are Penguins fans...who are mostly bandwagon btw. Nobody even cared about the Penguins a few years ago when the were a joke. Anyway, I didn't mean to say anything bad about Mario Lemieux, just pointing out that he was a big reason that franchise didn't crumble.

Mario has always been a class act, and I'd even argue that he was a better hockey player than Wayne Gretzkey. Another point, you can say all you want about the Caps bc I'm a Flyers fan lol

Yup :)

Red it is... although I wish I had an Ovechkin sweater to wear.

And if you are in the lower level. Make sure to watch the game carefully. You don't want to be one of those people that get donked in the head by a puck. I've seen that happen way to often.

I remember the days before they put nets up around each end, people were getting hit by pucks all the time, sadly though it took a young girl getting killed by one of them for them to put those nets up.

Yea the only time people really get donked anymore, is when they are clearing the puck out of the zone, or there is a deflection. People behind the nets are safe to gab and not pay attention to the game.

Thanks for the heads-up... not sure where the seats are, but I think they're pretty good. Will let you know.

That reminds me of when I used to play hockey, I played in Delaware but we had a game in Baltimore in some really shoddy rink in a really bad neighborhood they didn't have any glass around one side of the rink, and some girl took a slap shot to the forehead, then when the guy standing next to her bent over to help her up somebody picked his pocket. I was like wow that would only happen here! lmao

Woohoo, went to last night's Caps game and they managed to pull out a win, 4-2. Why the heck the Flyers decided to leave their goal open and put in a 6th man at the end I won't understand, especially when Ovechkin is on the floor.

Yeah, I finally had time to watch some of the Caps last night and saw the EN goal by Alex the Great... can you say 3rd straight MVP?

when teams do that, most of the time it backfires and the opposing team seals the win with an easy goal, but every once in a while it works i guess. After the Flyers blew that 2 goal lead I fell asleep lol good thing too!

I'm not a caps fan at all, but Ovechkin is going to be an all time great. I don't think he will touch any of Gretzkey's records but he has done some things that I have never seen before, what an amazing talent

Anybody watching the Caps game? I've never seen a arena so empty and quiet. It's really depressing. It's almost like a practice.

I guess between the World Series, and Kovalchuk out. There's no reason to go to the game.

You're right, it's like a funeral or something. Maybe they know they're team is going to lose. :)

Edit: Do the announcers have some irrepresible need to use baby names for all of the players or is it just me?

(Ie Clarky, Greeny, etc)

Anybody ever been to a Caps game? I would really like to get some tickets for tomorrows game but I have never been to a game before. I kknow I can get tickets on craigslist fairly cheap, but after that I'm lost. What seats are descent? Is the parking similiar to a Ravens game (gotta pay $20-$40 when you get there)? Any other useful information I may need? Sure would be nice if the Caps had a message board...or atleast one I could find...THANKS!

It's so true. They also prefer to call coach by his nickname. Gabby.

Been to tons. I like to sit on the lower level on the Caps side. Try not to sit behind the net, unless you want to get cheap tickets and a bird eye view up top. Lower level goal zones are the best. Most the action happens in the zones. If you can get club level seats - anywhere is fine. Upper level the closer to mid-ice the better.

I suggest finding the closest metro to you and parking there and take the metro in. It drops you off beneath Verizon Center. I've parked there once, didn't like it. I've always used the metro.

Show up a bit early and get some good eats in Chinatown next to the Verizon Center.

Ho-hum... another 2 Goal, 3 point night for Alex the Great. Caps win.
That's 6 in a row. With the Islanders and Blue Jackets coming up. I would love to control the Eastern Conference for the majority of the season.

Theo had a great game the other night, Varly had a great game last night. Good stuff.

Just have to work on finishing off games.

Didn't he give up 3 3rd Period goals though? I'd say he had a good game, not great.

He had a great game considering that the rest of the Caps gave up in the third. Our D was horrendous. One goal came on a breakaway. The last goal was at the buzzer.

Varly took 41 shots on goal. Many of them excellent scoring chances with several breakaways. Our D was just bad. You can't give up 41 shots and expect to win the game.

Despite giving up 3 goals, I thought he played a great game. If he had a good game we would of lost, because our D was that bad in the 3rd. He kept the win for us. He made dozens of tough stops.

Ok, I didn't see the whole game, just the Ovechkin goals, but I noticed the 3 goals in the 3rd from the Box Score. Now that I know that our D got complacent and that he took 41 SOG, that changes things.
