That's pretty good for a guy who historically hasn't seen much LB playing time.

There is an interesting article about him on the homepage. I like how we are using him in our sub packages. As a fan, it's cool to learn new things about the players and our gameplan. Harbs says he is getting more playing time in passing situations, subbing for Gooden because of his size and speed. He normally covers the slot receivers like a Welker. It would be interesting to see how he performs this weekend against the Pats. Good job Brendon.

I concur. And if you listen to Harbaugh, it sounds like he is gonna get more and more playing time as the season goes on. He talked about how his speed made him a part of all of the sub-packages (nickel, dime, etc.) because he can cover quicker slot receivers and TEs.

Where is the website that displays all AFC/NFC Players of the week on both Offense and Defense?

When he made his pick against Cleveland, he was cover Mike Furrey, the Brown's slot reciever, and it was excellent coverage and he had the ball smarts to undercut the throw and make the INT. The Ravens are notorious for running packages like that though, nickles and dimes with 5 or 6 LBs, then they get creative in how they bring pressure.

Awesome. I'm pretty excited to read about his cover skills over the middle too. It seems like every championship level team has at least one player step up his game to unexpectedly new heights. James Harrison comes to mind last year. Maybe Brendan is that guy. Or maybe we have several ;) .

He certainly earned it this week with his performance... Let's hope Joe can follow suit with the FedEx Air Player of the Week!

Sadly, I think Manning is going to get FedEx Air Player of the week, if only because he has 3 more TDs then Flacco *shrugs*

It's great to see Brendon playing well, after all, he used to just be a great Special Teamer. I was quite surprised to see him play as well as he did at Middle Linebacker.

If I recall correctly, he went to the pro bowl last year for special teams linebacker, however he took a bunch of snaps as one of the MLB's.

It's amazing how great this organization is at finding talented defensive players. This is a special teams guy and he's making stellar defensive plays. An all too common occurrence on this team throughout it's brief history.

First off let me start by saying great job BA.

I was one of the main people on this board that thought BA would/should be cut to avoid losing younger guys like Ellerbe, Phillps, and Bugress(good call there by me right?). My main reason for this was that I felt BA was only a great Special Teamer, and didn't play well at all when given the chance at LB.

However, BA has been getting better weekly as the season goes on. It almost has a feel like Flacco last year, where he just improves from week to week and rarely makes the same mistake twice.

My feeling is that BA still needs to get a better feel for the LB position. It seems like right now he is doing everything that is asked of the position to a T, regradless of the play. Because if this he seems to be a split second slow, or out of position by a step or so. A good example of this was the Jackson first down out of the Endzone in week 2. BA was just a split second slower then the other defenders to react and as a result the Chargers got the first down on 3rd down, instead of punting. Once he gets more comfortable, he'll get more confident in reading and reacting quicker.

Right now it's so far so good for BA and I'm glad I was wrong about him.

You know what? thats cute and all but a 33 year old special teamer has no business taking snaps away from young guys who are developing.

This is very cool, happy for him. Nice to see his game is really evolving, with his ability as a special teamer he could be very valuable heading forward.

good for BA although he didnt really deserve it. David Harris also had a sack and a pick and a lot more tackles.

And BA does get pushed around in running plays. Although im very happy he got this award as it jsut shows that Baltimore makes linebackers great.

Good job BA :D

I think the guy that takes the snaps should be whomever is best for the job at the moment. The young guys will get their chance to develop.

Congratulations to Brendon.

Even though McClain is aweful in pass coverage, and Gooden isnt as good as BA according to the coaches? BA doesnt play during run downs because hes undersized and not good against the run, he plays on pass downs because hes smaller than a LB but bigger than a safety, has good agility and lateral movement. I dont care if Gooden and McClain are 23, if BA is better in pass coverage then BA plays on pass downs that simple.
