I can't wait to play the New England Patriots next week. This win will definitely quiet the doubters. A lot of people are still talking trash because they don't believe we can beat the tough teams. Our win against the Chargers and being number one in our division isn't enough. Everyone is waiting us to beat a powerhouse. I am so tired of hearing "haters" say we aren't playing anyone it isnt funny BUT when we win against the Patriots and the Steelers it's going to feel so good as a fan. I believe in our team and that's why I am so confident. Two of the coolest Qb's in the Nfl are playing my vote between Joe Cool and Tom Brady.......

What's funny is that SD WAS considered a "powerhouse", until we beat them then all of the sudden they're a team with a lot of question marks and inconsistent.

If our D can't get pressure on Brady via the blitz, which we haven't been able to do as effectively this season, he is going to have a big game. Maybe Kruger makes a cameo appearance to get more pass rush?

However, unlike in previous years, our offense can carry us now, and the Pats D is suspect, especially with Mayo out.

I predict a close game, with the Ravens coming away with a 27-17 victory.

Yea it drives me crazy as well. Browns and KC at home. But NE and SD on the road? It's a tough pill to swallow.

But lets look at the bright side. At least we get to play the Colts at home. We are going to have make M&T louder than ever before.

Yup, can't wait! I am counting down the days!!

Considering how well the interior o-line did against Shaun Rogers today, I'm confident the team will be able to run the ball against the Pats with Vince Wilfork next week.

Definitely need to get front 4 pressure on Tom Brady. If not, we could be seeing another career day for Randy Moss and Brady. Luckily Moss is their only "Big" target. Galloway and Welker have speed but we have the speed to defend.

And their defense has a lot of kinks in their armor. Only big downside in this game is we aren't at home.

The only thing that worries me is that our front 4 are good run stoppers but aren't doing that great at rushing the passer this year. I mean the Browns are one thing, but if we let Brady have enough time he'll be pickin' our secondary apart. The best defense in those situations is a good offense, which we have. I think it's a winnable game, but it'll be more of a shootout. With how our D is playing in the red zone and how potent our rushing attack has been, I can see us winning it in the end.

Checked the pats message boards (they suck terribly) but most of their fans are calling us the best team in the NFL right now, there was one though that kind of made me laugh, he said something to the tune of "Ravens defense looks like they can be run on" hahaha. Anyway, Randy Moss is tall but as I said before he isn't nearly as physical as some of the guys we have played already. It's gonna be a tough one but I really think the Ravens are just more complete on both sides of the ball. The Ravens offense has way more advantage against the Pats defense than the Pats Offense has against our D.

Hello Ravens Fans,

Looking forward to the game next week. I think this will be a great test for both teams and make for a good match-up. Here is to a clean and injury free game for both teams.

I'd be VERY worried if I were NE, especially Brady.

Well, why the Ravens get immense respect from me, I would not go as far as to say worried. We have a ton of new faces on our roster, a QB coming back from time off and a severe injury, and some injury issues...but I think as the season rolls on we will perform better.

Pats hey day has come and gone.
That said, not an easy win either.

Maybe you could allow for us to have a losing season, or miss the playoffs more than once under Brady before that statement eh?

I feel as though their defense isn't as good as in years past. They did a pretty good job against the Falcons, but I don't think they will be able to hang with our Oline.

You may get lucky and see neither Moss nor Welker next week, which would suck for you. I imagine you, like me, prefer to play a team at full strength to get a good idea of how your team is faring. Moss was a game time decision today and initially didn't dress, then did at the last minute. Back injury and he was hobbling after the game. Still pulled down 115 yds today. Watson is fast...Morris catches well out of the backfield...Galloway has yet to show anything...Edelman is a Welker 2.0 but he is a rook ex-QB making transition.

As to the D with kinks in the armor.....see above responses.

Anyway, good luck next week. Congratulations on 3-0.

Welcome aboard.

I still stand by what I said, even if it sounds a bit smack-talkish. We made a name for ourselves with our defense, but were ridiculed over the years (deservedly so) for our offense.
Our defense remains what it always has been, but finally we have a potent offense to go with it (currently ranked #2 :o).

On paper, and so far on the field, we have finally put it all together and have to say, this is a scary team...I look forward to this game, because a lot of us here feel that we still have unfinished business from the last time we met.

PS- Please win that division. The New York Ravens irritate the crap out of me.

Welcome to the boards. As you have seen some of our fans are a bit cocky. Others of us are a bit more poised and realistic. I honestly see no rivalry between either teams. Unfinished business, maybe, but no rivalry. I haven't looked into the Pat's as far as injuries go. However, injuries happen. The Ravens are a shining example of an injury prone team last season. Look what we accomplished.

This is one game that I am looking forward to watching (partly because my gf is a Pats fan for now lol) because it should be a great matchup, much like San Diego was.

I'm sure you and I can't wait for matchups like this. Good luck to your Pats this season, well except on October 4. :P

I can't wait for the game against New England. I love the tune-up game against the Brownies beforehand. The defense was able to get itself together and can hopefully play Brady like they played him December of 2007. Except this time we need to get the win!

Can you please explain to me what the expectation level of the Ravens pass rush is? Because all I hear is people saying the Ravens don't get enough pressure, the Ravens don't get enough sacks. Then I say to myself, what team are these people watching?

The Ravens have been getting strong pressure on the QBs all season. Yes Rivers threw for a lot of yards, but we were in his face all day, he was just blessed to be tall and have tall WRs.

Other then the Chargers game, the Ravens have face 2 offenses that looked to get the ball out quickly, rather then look for the big plays down field. As a result we haven't had the opportunity for huge sack totals, but still have gotten to the passer. In those 2 games the Ravens pass D has given up 188 yards(KC) and 120 yards(CLE). That's less then 200 yards in 2 of the 3 games we've played.

Like I said before, people say we are not getting the sacks, yet when you look around the NFL, the Ravens are ranked 3rd in Sacks with 7. Who are the 2 teams tied ahead of us with 10? It has to be the Steelers with Harrison right? Or the Cowboys with Ware. Maybe it's the Giants and their great Dline? No wait, It has to be Rex and the #1 Jets D right? No. The 2 teams tied for the top spot in sacks are the Bengals and the Broncos.

For some reason people think the Ravens should have pressure on the QB every time they drop back to pass. Well football doesn't work like that. Those offensive guys get paid too. Everyone knows the style of defense the Ravens want to play. So they try to game plan around it by getting the ball out quickly, but every offense isn't build to do that. So as a result the Ravens have held 2 out of 3 opponents under 200 yards passing, we have 6 picks, and 3 forced fumbles.

Most of that defensive production is a direct result of the Ravens pressure up front. Could we get more pressure? Yes. Do we want more pressure? Yes. But are we lacking in that area? No. Not in my opinion. The Ravens are doing just find getting pressure and it will only get better as we adapt to being a more base team. All the moving and crazy stuff Rex did was good for show, but how much pressure did we really get on good QBs with it? We only had one great season for sacks under Rex and that was '06 with 60. Other then that we have been in the 35-45 range, which is right where the Ravens are on pace to reach this year.

So again, can you or anyone else explain to me what the expectations of this Ravens pass rush is.

I'm feeling good about this game. We have a strong offense that should pose an inexperienced and in my opinion, vulnerable New England defense. As for stopping Brady and Moss, that's always a challenge. We need to make sure we hit him early and often - I noted in the Buffalo game he was reluctant to step up against the rush because of his knee injury.

It could be a game similar to San Diego, although the size of New England receivers barring Moss isn't such a problem. We must contain Wes Welker also (if healthy) as best as possible.

I'll predict Ravens win 24-20.

I predict 38-16,

People here are talking about Pats Offense as a looming threat, but not understanding how exploitable the Pats D are right now.

Their defense is not the same as before, nearly the entire D has been liquidated and only have decent Dline... which honestly doesn't stand a chance against our Oline. McGahee will have a highlight game of his career with over 100 yards rushing, running b+c gaps all day. Flacco will have over 250 yards passing majoring in clayton with rice on the wing. Better believe Kelley wants some, but he will just be a very large decoy all game while baiting the throw to him. Pats will most likely assume we will exploit his knowledge of the Pats D. And, when they do let up on Kelley, we will exploit them. One final note about the Pats defense, its young and extremely vulnerable to trick plays. Pats don't have a chance tbh.

Could very well be a blowout, if all goes well.

Don't think their defense is fast enough to keep up with Rice and McGahee, especially after our OL grinds them down all game.

On the other hand, our secondary better bring the pain, else Brady and Moss could make life very miserable for us.

I understand that u guys are #6 ranked, but this early in the seasons, sometimes rankings can be misleading.

I think you guys have good young talent, but I still don't feel you guys are as physically imposing as in years past.

From the 2 games I've seen you guys, your defense was less then impressive. The Bills moved the ball really well on your defense at times and when you needed big stops on 3rd down, you D didn't come thru.

With the Jets you guys did a good job in the first half, but their game plan was pretty plain. Once the 2nd half started they came out attacking your defense and pretty much moved the ball at will.

I haven't watched your game with the Falcons, but just from a stats standpoint I'd say you guys did well. However, while the Falcons offense can be explosive at times, I don't feel they bring the overall consistency and physical style that we do.

Now this is not to say you guys don't have a chance. I wouldn't say that because I think this will be a really good game. However I do feel that in the long run our team will start to pull away from you guys in the 4th quarter. I don't feel you guys have faced a team that will lean on your Dline for 4 straight quarter and punch you in the mouth like we will. How will you guys respond?

All 3 of your games have been really close in the 4th quarter. You guys are a fumble away from being 1-2. Also it took 2 4th down conversions deep in your own territory to really gain control of the ATL game late. If I'm not mistaken it was a 3 point game at that point and you guys went for it on your own 22 yard line? Seems kinda desperate this early in the season. If you guys choose to play the same style with the Ravens, I don't think you'll be able to pull it off at the end.

It's gonna be a good game, but early signs say that if one of the teams is capable of pulling away and dominating this game its the Ravens. But we'll see how it turns out.

Spygate and getting jobbed by the refs in '07 notwithstanding, I don't hate them. I just think it's time to pass the torch.

BTW, I definitely can see one of us getting blown out. They have Brady and Moss, and a lot of intelligent people over there. We have the #2 offense and an all-universe defense. Something's going to give.

I'm pleased Pittsburgh's offense is leaving them open to defeat in the fourth quarter; their inability to score points is really hurting them now. I mean, what is their identity? Running the ball I thought? That doesn't seem to be working well, so they're becoming more reliant on the pass.

Irrespective, their offensive line is still marginal and is one area we certainly are stronger. Cincinnati could be tricky but at the same time, we are the better team. Their defense is improved, so it will be a test for our offense.
