Who Steps Up Against The Browns?

22 posts in this topic

Brady Quinn steps up big time and connects with all his receivers.

Unfortunately, for him, all his receivers showed up in Ravens uniform.

yay, 100 posts. Anyway, I expect our backfield to have a fun time today. Hope for a solid passing game aswell. I look for a big game for Suggs too. I see him sacking Quin a few times. A player that needs to step it up is Carr. He stinks imo. I say give Ladarious Webb a few tries out there.

I think our secondary needs to have a big game today. We gave up 430+ yards last week, we're ranked 20 something against the pass, and Reed has yet to have a big play. The secondary needs to make a statement to the rest of the NFL that it isn't the Raven's weakness.

Prior to the season, the weakness was presumed to be our passing offense. In week one we quieted those concerns. To add to this, we kept our usual stout running attack, run defense, and our dominance in the trenches continued from last season.

To me, it seem that the Ravens may not be a "complete" team in the sense of having no weaknesses, but we may be "complete" in terms of one aspect of our team stepping up to compensate for a weakness in another area of our team.

Defense will show up today, but I do believe (and hope) it will start with the line and linebackers. There may be a few deep balls but the secondary may be more active in blitzing than chasing down Browns recievers.

It's all about the ground game today IMO! I wouldn't be surprised to see both Rice and McGahee go over 100 yds and a score. Our passing game will step up when needs be but we won't be airing it out like the past 2 weeks I don't think.

I can see the secondary redeeming themselves nicely by shutting down the Browns passing game effectively and we all know they ain't gonna get their running game going! ;)

My only concern is Cribbs tearing through our Special Teams but other than that I can't see how we don't dominate this game.

Who on either side of the ball is gonna step up and help us get a big divisional win?

Everyone. The stepping up occurred all this week during practice, via blood, sweat and grinding gears.

For them: whoever is 3rd on the Right O Guard Depth chart 1&2 are out today.
For us: whoever lines up against the Right O Guard...

Also the emergency kicker they just signed and their running back core. Dawson and Lewis are out.

The Ravens might need a backup OT(Cousins, Moll or Yanda) to step up.

Gaither is suffering from flu like symptoms and Is a game time decision.

So things could get a little iffy up front. We'll see in a few hours.

Remeber last season, ed reed had 1 interception in the first 11 weeks, you gotta give the defense a bit of time to adjust themselves

If Gaither can't go, I'd think that they would start Yanda. He has played well at tackle in the past

I think that would be the best choice in most cases, as Yanda might be the best overall olineman on the team.

However I'm not sure we want to put Yanda out on that island with him still overcoming that knee injury. I'm not sure that Yanda could hold up for a full game, althougj he looked great in preseason ans so far in limited action. So we'll see

I'm looking for Foxworth to step up this game as he matures into the defense. On offense I'm looking for Demetrius Williams to make his first catch. Williams is healthy and we had high expectations for him.

If you ask me our Ravens are going to show up on both sides of the ball. After the last game our secondary will definitely have a chip on their shoulders. Our Offense will continue to put up the usual 200+ yardage. BUT SPECIAL TEAMS MAY HAVE A BIG DAY FELLAS. I MEAN THEY HAVE BEEN UNDER THE MICROSCOPE THE PAST TWO GAMES. NOW THAT WE HAVE A SPECIAL TEAM THREAT, THEY DEFINITELY ARE UNDER THE MICROSCOPE. I know that was the main focus capturing Cribbs and trying to take his head off. We will have a big day. My prediction 28-10 Baltimore.

I look for Gregg Mattison and his entire defensive unit to step up and play big.

Mattison will get the Gatorade shower after this game and for the first time all season the Ravens defense shows they are still one of the best in the business.

I think the Browns will struggle to get 150+ total offensive yards in this game. That is how good I think the Ravens defense will play today.

The secondary will show some pride and play well today.

Yeah, good point. I think/hope the secondary play will improve significantly. I'm hoping Ray gets the entire defense fixated on improving performance.
