Jamarcus Russell/ Brady Quinn Vs. Troy Smith

7 posts in this topic

Obviously, Trent Edwards is the best QB from the 07 draft class. But I really think right now Troy is better than Russell and Quinn, the two first round QB's from that year. They are both terrible. Russell has a horrible work ethic, he doesnt seem very smart, and the only thing he has going for him on the field is his strong arm. I predict Russell will be out of the NFL for good whenever the Raiders decide to dump him. No team is going to pick him up not even as a 3rd stringer. I'd rather have John Beck, another QB from the 07 draft class, as the Ravens 3rd stringer than Russell. Quinn looks like a backup QB at best. I dont even see him being a good game manager. I think if Troy were on the Raiders or Browns, he could have beat Russell and Quinn for their starting jobs.

It should be obvious but I guess I should note that this isnt a trade Troy Smith thread or a Smith vs Flacco thread, this is a Jamarcus Russell and Brady Quinn stink thread. Thats all, rant over. :)

i honestly can say that i think that draft turned out being god awful when talking about quarterbacks, u can go ahead and say that trent edwards is the best and he probably is, but he's no joe flacco or matt ryan that came out the year after that. Troy is talented but he can't help it that he stuck in Baltimore behind flacco, but he could go somewhere like the browns or the raiders or even the jags or panthers and be a quality starter.

You could make the argument that they're on bad teams, but it's their third year in the league and they should at least be handling their offenses correctly.

Quinn should have had the rookie season Matt Ryan had,but then Derek Anderson took his place and did better with the Browns.

Jamarcus Russel is on the Raiders....yeah his career was done before it got started.

Neepo. Jarmacus Russell. He is a great player....get over it!

His accuracy stinks. He's intimidating for his size. But for a QB - it doesn't do it's just. I think its official that he'll never be an NFL QB. I really do not know how he went from 67% completions during his final year at LSU to 35% completions this year. Enjoying the limelight perhaps?

The jury is still out on Brady Quinn. I'm looking forward to watching him on Sunday to see what the verdict in my mind will be.

Quinn held out his rookie year, and got into camp very late. That's what gave Anderson his chance, and he took advantage. Quinn really screwed the Browns over. If he shows up on time to training camp, maybe he does have a Ryan / Flacco type rookie year (doubtful, but you never know). But he wanted top 10 money, so he held out, giving Anderson his chance. They then end up giving Anderson a huge contract, now they have 2 highly overpaid QB's. Way to go Brady!!! :P

I'd take Troy Smith any day over Quinn or Russell. Ofcourse Al Davis likes Russell because he can throw the ball a mile but his accuracy is wanting. As for Quinn, he's Kyle Boller 2.0 . Actually, I'd probably take Boller over Quinn too.
