(Speculation) Dwayne Bowe To Ravens?

21 posts in this topic

I was on NFL insider and read that the KC chiefs may place Bowe on the trading block. If this becomes true, we should definitely pursue picking him up. The dude is a beast, I mean he had a 1000+ yd season last year with Tyler Thigpen throwing to him. Imagine the possibilities of having Flacco throwing the ball to this guy. Oh the thought makes me happy haha. But its all up in the air now though.

Much like the Denver situation we would have to see what the asking price is. If KC wants too much in return then we won't bite. However if they wanted a reasonsable compensation then I'd definately add him to the team.

He is still a young WR who would really be coming into his prime in the next year or so.

I really can't see KC parting with him, but then again that coaching staff didn't draft him, so its possible.

I would love Dwayne Bowe. Great Size and Great Hands. He's also very consistent.

Like you said it really doesn't matter who's throwing him the ball. He makes the catches. He's a great Redzone target. Plus he's in his third season - time for this guy to break out.

I would take Bowe in a heartbeat.

Anyone know what KC is paying him? Think they would be interested in D-Will and the late pick we got from NE?
Doubtful they'd take a seventh rounder and D-Will. D-Will has an additional year under his belt and is around 1,250 yards short of Bowe.

Plus they spent a 1st round pick on him a few years ago. A 2nd and D-Will is probably a better offer.

Salary
2009 - $460,000
2010 - $600,000
2011 - $690,000
2012 - Free Agent

remember this is all speculation but......

id offer Justin Bannan, Demetrius Williams and a 2nd round pick for Dwayne bowe and a 4th round pick. Hell, id give them our 1st for him but KC wants pieces on defense and im sick of McKinney being inactive

Lets get him!!!!
Plus hes not asking for a new contract so all we have to give is the compensation

Yeah its nice to have a big smashmouth receiver but he doesnt do it nearly as well as Boldin or Marshall. He's a grinder, he doesn't get much separation.

not a chance.. like kia said its all speculation, but i cant see KC parting with him for less than a 1st after the lions got a 1st, 3rd, and 6th i believe for roy williams, denver wanted a 1st for marshall, and arizona originally wanted a 1st and 3rd for boldin

I don't know about a 1st for this guy. A 2nd and maybe Barnes or something.
Not only that, I would rather trade up in the first and grab one of these beasts coming out of college next year, there's probably 3 or 4 guys coming out that will be better than Bowe.

How 'bout instead of Bannan we offer Gregg (tho I don't know if they'd take an older DT) but he is older than Bannan and Justin did just fine last year in place of Kelly. But yeah, Kc NEEDS a 3/4 DT.

I rather see Ravens get Crabtree.

wont happen.
Not directed at you, just a general observation...a lot of people immediately dismiss trade talk simply because the player we may be looking at is a big name player.
Over the past few years, we have traded for T.O., Steve McNair and Willis McGahee. If Baltimore wants Bowe bad enough, we'll go get him.

I happen to agree though that this won't happen, because I don't think Bowe is good enough to warrant the first round pick KC will try to get for him (and we know how much Oz loves his 1st rounders.)

Guys, we need to get it into our heads that we are not going to trade for a receiver, Front office doesn't really see it as a position of need right now. We are going to upgrade the position through the draft. Mark my word. Dez Bryant or Brandon Lafell should fit. Plus keep in mind that we are looking for people who play like Ravens. Does D Bowe sound like that kind of Harbaugh guy to you?

I don't think this is going to happen. Our receiving corps is fine. Heap is making a huge difference, Mason still catches everything near him, Clayton is always improving, and I think Kelly Washington is better than we all expected, plus we still have Rice who is dangerous out of the backfield. I'd rather wait and draft a receiver.

he's nursing an injury right now not to sure the seriousness of it but we have enough injury prone wr i hope if this happens he isn't added to the list.at the same time our wr we have now are doing pretty good but someone like bowe creates double team which usually means wideopen heap !
