Well then, good thing it is 2009!
I said as much. <_<

But this is the Not For Long league, right? Things can easily change, but...
In their first two games, the 2009 Detriot Lions have a defensive passer rating of 134.9 and they have allowed their opponents to complete 80% of their passes.

In short:
The Lions defense went from bad (2007) to worse (2008) and looks even worse in 2009.

New hotshot QB to throw bombs to Megatron while Carlos Rogers looks on helplessly, new stud TE to lay Andre Carter's overpaid butt out, and speaking of Detroit's defense....I like their new additions of Julian Peterson, Anthony Henry and Louis Delmas. This defense will gain a little respectability against an awful 4skins offense this week.

I'm going to say....20-17, Detroit. B)
I can totally agree with you about the fact that the Redskins have a woeful offense, but I'm feeling defense...

If Washington's defense fails to deliver; this will be long day for the 'Skins, but I'm going to play it safe and say that Detroit will make Jason Campbell look really good.

28-20 Washington.

Stafford has been lackluster at best, nothing near a "hotshot QB". One TD to five picks for 357 yards isn't exactly hot shot status.

As for late comers, I'm probably going to add you guys to a seperate grid for now "BR.com You Pick 'Em Practice Squad". And unless there are any objections from the original 17, at the end of the contest, I'll "exempt" the worst week from the original 17, hence why I'm now going to log everyone's picks. At the end of the contest, I'll merge the Practice Squad into the main grid for the final ranking. I refuse to do "Win/Loss Percentage", because I don't think it'd be fair to those who picked every game (aside from week one) if someone who joined late ended up winning it.

So if any of the original 17 have objections to this, PM me.

Well, only MagicianCamille hasn't made picks, so he has until 11am EST to make his. Or else, he'll go 0-16 this week =\ Luckily that would be his worst week, if no objections are made.

Week Three picks have been logged and tallied. Here's how week three panned out:

Baltimore, Green Bay, Houston, New Orleans, and San Diego are the unanimous picks this week.

Tennessee/New York, Atlanta/New England and San Fransisco/Minnesota are the toss-up picks of the week.

The away teams are favored over the home teams, 9-7.

Good luck everyone. Standings will be posted monday night after the Carolina/Dallas game is over.

Hmmm bad week for me . 9-5 so far. Damn those 49ers blowing a loss to Brett Favre. And Seattle let me down royally.

And who would have though 0-3 for TENN. I guess that's karma from last year's hot start.

meh, I'm 11-3 in my first week so far, but Arizona is down 21-3 in the second quarter, making me look like a great big jerk for picking those boneheads..plenty of time to turn it around though.

Hmmmm, even if I blow my predictions on these last two games, I'm already better than I was last week, so far I have 9 wins.

Just a heads up to all, rankings will be delayed until tomorrow. I will not be home after the game is over, therefore I won't be able to update and post until tomorrow. So look for the new rankings and thread tomorrow night, wednesday at the latest.

Thank you.

12-4.. missed the lions, steelers, texans, and jets.. not a bad week

its about time i pick an upset special, though.
I think we all missed the boat on Pitts and Houston, lol...

I missed on those two games, the Jests and Arizona. Went 12-4 too, guess it's okay, probably not in too big a hole to start out. Need to break out the crystal ball next week though.

Changed to Pittsburgh. Just don't see them losing 2 in a row....
Guess that's what happens when I think too much.

Went 11 - 5, lost 2 of them in the final minute (SF and Pitt).
