Shula's Comments

Does anyone think Shula's comments have any validity, or is he just desperately trying to hold on to Miami's legacy of the only unbeaten team? I think it's the latter.

I think a little bit of both. That '72 team gets antsy every time the NFL gets to week 10 with an unbeaten team.

I think it's both. I can see in a sense where he's coming from because he doesn't want his beloved '72 team to be in the same breath as the "Spygate" Patriots and I can respect that.

However, I'd respect it more if him and his batch of dope former teammates didn't get a stick up their you know what every single season around this time when they frantically worry about someone else going undefeated. It gets old.

I think the asterisk would be way harsh on the pats.

I doubt them having watched a tape of the jets 'D' has actually affected their season

i mean really, i think they are taking this 16-0 thing a little too seriously if they start doing that kinda thing, i mean they cant do anything about it, so why bother? sure there may be another team to go 16-0 in a single season but those players of '72 will always be remembered as teh very "FIRST team to go 16-0 in a single season" i eman cmon have some dignity and take pride in teh fact that They are the 1st team in NFL history so far to go 16-0

They won't go 16-0 anyway because they have to...come...through...Baltimo...forget it.

It's too painful to finish that sentence.

Yeah, i think Shula is on both sides of the fence, i mean, there could be a team to break the 'phins record that was legitimately caught cheating, so i don't think it's off base...

What bothers me more, is the "punishment" of the patriots by losing their 1st round pick (probably 30th or higher).....and now they make out even better, because they have the 49ers first round pick. Wow, i'm sure they are sweating out only having a top 10 pick in the first round this year, as opposed to 2 in the first round....this might put the franchise in a tailspin!!!!!

i doubt that the Pats will go 16-0.....despite the number of Offensive Weapons they have on Offense......The Colts Game did prove that the Pats are human and Do make mis-takes and therefore showing every other team in the NFL that this patriot "god" status that they somehow are reagarded as...is nothing more than just talk.

they have as good a chance as anyone has had since the '85 bears!

it will be interesting to see what happens after they clinch everything........

i think that yea they have a high possiblity in doing so, but everything else is against them in TRYING to do so, just look at the 2005 Colts, they went 13-0 before losing their first game and back then EVERYONE was saying teh EXACT same thing as they are now, the only difference now is that its with a different team.

Back then the regular season was 15 weeks, 14 games total, so pats would be the first to go 16-0 in the regular season.

lol that was then (and the pats had a few problems of their own to deal with) and this is now, they seemed to have gotten this straightened out and you can seethe result of it....3 Superbowls.....Looking like a Fourth is coming soon and who knows what else they could do in the near future....that being said....we all know that those Players wont be on that team forever, so...its a matter of Capitalization and getting as much as you can Now, because later....will come those Losing Season's that i've been talking about in my previous posts on here, in the other Topics on here. and Patiecence will become strained with patriot fans because they'll all the sudden, losing, after being a Winner from 2001- an unknown date...so its basically a waiting game...because Sooner or later, the "losing" Bug will bite them again.

I don't know if anyone here is into rugby, but this is kind of like what happened in the world cup.

New Zealand were seen as unbeatable and destroyed everyone in their group, but when it got to the knockout stages ( the playoffs) the lost in the first round.

Goodell should've taken both picks away.

The "other" first round pick that the Pats obtained in the Moss trade is a contractual "done deal" that the league (Goodell) has no authority to recind, what-so-ever. The league does, however, have the right to restrict...or eliminate...a teams draft choices that are NOT under prior contractural arrangement. The ruling was the Pats 1st round draft pick...be that the first, or...HOPEFULLY...the 32nd!

And, I'm very upset that San Francisco won last week!!! The Pats pick got "bumped"...but, it's still going to be in the top 5, easily!

Don was an extraordinary coach...a HOF legend. It's a shame he had to come out and throw in his, obviously, 2-cents worth of prejudice into the midst of this controversy. His comments will not tarnish the Patriots' legacy, what-so-ever...only serve to, sadly, sully his own legacy!

But, it's not like it's something he's going to remember tomorrow, anyways! HA! No harm; no foul!
