We don't have to lose, we can continue winning - I'm fine with that. When we do lose let's hope it's a tough fought battle against the Pats or Colts. Not a meltdown against the Browns or Lions.
Yeah, I don't think we need to lose anything. I think this team has a chance to win every game, one game at a time. I know the coaches will prepare to win them all, and the players certainly don't intend to lose any either.

This game is very simple for us. Protect the ball. No turnovers and we will win this game.

Stick to what we do best. Run, control the clock, and (attempt at) getting pressure. Their running game will be non-existent. I look to see our running game open up some crazy deep play-action passes.

NOTE TO TEAM: Watch out for Shaun Rodgers, he might think one of our players heads' is a Turducken again.
I disagree. Although that recipe would for sure get us a win, I think they should come out like they did in KC again. If we continue to throw well on teams early (the crappy teams that is), than other teams have to respect that, which opens us up to really being effective with our bread and butter as you described earlier. I think it is better to flash our passing game when we have the opportunity, and CLE is another opportunity. Just my 2 cents. ;)

To beat the Browns we need to:

*Stop messing around and give the ball to McGahee instead of Rice. Face it he is a better between the tackle runner and has 4 TDs for us so far whereas Rice has 0(his whole career). Rice should be supporting him not the other way around.

*Stop passing so much in the beginning! We are having Joe throw it for no reason when we should be running the ball to open up the pass. I saw us pass last week and this week to open up the game wondering why we werent taking advantage of a poor run defense.

*PRESSURE Quinn! Suggs, I'm sorry but you need to show me you are worth that contract because you couldn't beat a beat up McNeill on one on one rushes. On a good note, I like how JJ has been playing. I always thought maybe we could have started someone better than him but Im wrong Jarrett has shown he plays with a lot of intensity. Also, maybe activate Kruger for a game....what a waste of a 2nd round pick if you arent gonna activate him as depth/situational downs

*Fire the secondary coach. Disgusted by our secondary today.

*Keep the DL fresh. Switch guys out more often so they can break up the OL more consistently.

I don't want to sound like I hate my team, which isn't the case, but we should be concerned when Phillip Rivers with a beat up line throws for almost 500 yards. We made some dumb mistakes and miscommunications.

Also, I fear the day Ray Lewis retires. He truly is the BEST linebacker in history and I don't care about what you say about Lawrence Taylor or Dick Butkus because no one is more clutch than 52.

EDIT: Suggs 1.5 sacks, 2 TFL, 2 QB hits. Good stats but not great stats.
Suggs gets doubled which frees up other rushers and lowers his stats...

McGahee and Rice shouldn't be labeled as starters... they should both play an equal role, when appropriate. McGahee isn't better, just different. Of course he gets more touchdowns... He's more of a power guy while Rice is more elusive. Who do we run in the Red Zone? The power guy...

Ray Lewis is phenomenal, but you really can't say he's better than LT. They are two of the best players of their times...

I will however agree with slowing down on the passing...

You talk about our team like the coaches aren't professionals. There are things that happen every day that we don't see or hear about. They know what they're doing. We're 2-0... enjoy it and look forward to the Browns game.

Hopefully more of the same out of both teams.

Definitely hope we don't see the Brown's team that clicked a couple times last year against a good opponent.

Mac, I am going to start using your pictures as my background for that specific week. i am going to need one for the bye week too! lol

He also gets more snaps. I am saying if Harbaugh is a man of his word and really means he will be switching it up all season, maybe Willis should get most of carries and make Rice have 10 carries or however many Willis has been having a game.

This video doesn't make me mad at all. He's mad his Browns suck, again. Now hes taking shots at the city since his team cant take shots to the redzone. The Jim Palmer bit made me laugh though. If the city would get going on the new Arena, we will get a NBA team. If we had it built when the sonics left Seattle, they would be here in Baltimore, no doubt. I mean come on.... Oklahoma city?

Anything can happen in a single football game. We were tied with KC at the 2 min warning. That's why there are 16 games a season.

What are the odds we lose to the browns? Low, but not 0. Say maybe 10%. It could happen. We could also turn around and win on the road at the Pats a week later. Jay Cutler through 4 interceptions against a 6-10 team week 1 and then beat the super bowl champions the next week.

Just enjoy it one week at a time. After six games we can start to talk about how the seasons shaping up.

Rice has some sort of TD curse. He's stepped out at the sub 1 several times.
...and that's why McGahee has the touchdowns. He's the bulldog that pushes that last yard. It's also why stats are misleading. I am impressed with both McGahee and Rice this year.

I'm also not as upset about the defense as some people. I know we're used to offenses not being able to do anything against our defense, but I think offenses, as a whole, have gotten more prolific. Ours certainly has. :) On the NFL network last night they were saying that QB ratings as a whole are better than years ago. Specifically, I'm not down on Suggs like some people. He's put pressure on the QB and he's double-teamed a lot, which means someone else is available for the hits. The secondary may cause a little more concern, but many of the plays they were with the receivers, they just needed a little more awareness a few times to knock the ball away or, in some instances, to grow taller. :P But the potential is there [not to grow...]. While they have caused me a few near-heart attacks, they've come through when needed, so I'm not going to be down on them, yet.

I know the games have been close and nerve-wracking - but the Ravens have won them both. A few upsets we saw this past weekend should give us perspective - the Ravens shut down the teams when they needed to. As long as they keep that up, I'll be a happy, albeit nervous-wreck, fan!

It'll be interesting to see how Washington and Foxworth play against Braylon Edwards this week. As long they are able to cover him well and the front seven eats Jamal alive early, the Ravens should roll to 3-0.

I doubt Quinn can throw as good as Rivers. Actually I'd be willing to put my house on it. And even if he does then the question is, can Edwards hold onto the ball?

Edwards has trouble watching TV - he's always bumbling the remote.

Obviously Quinn isn't as good a passer as Rivers but if he's given time, he'll find an open man. I forgot to mention it but the Ravens' pass rush has been inconsistent for two years now. Granted, Quinn has been rocked two games into the season but anything could happen Sunday.

Edwards drops balls but it's not like he drops every on-target pass thrown his way. He's abused Ravens corners in the past so I hope Foxworth and Washington are up to the task.

I think you're a little too reactionary.

There is nothing wrong with Ray Rice. He's doing just great. I'm not entirely sure you're looking at the same game I am at.

Suggs is doing great as well. He's just getting double teamed. Not too much you can do when that happens. However, I have seen him many time get to the QB and pressure him.

There is nothing wrong with the secondary coach. It's hard to defend against receivers that are much taller than the CBs. Ever think Rivers and his receivers are just that good?

Breaking up an OL is not as easy as it seems, even with "backups".

Do not expect game breaking stats every game. Just because we didn't crush Kansas city and let Rivers have a career passing day on us doesn't mean we are not doing well.

At least CLE fans aren't delusional...

"I am a Browns fan, and all of what Frantz said in this video means absolutely nothing on the football field where my Browns are going to get taken to the woodshed by the Ravens"

agreed except, I don't think you can compare LT and Ray Lewis. Because LT specialized in getting sacks and Ray Lewis is a bruising tackler. So they are both great LBs in the history of NFL and they are each the best in their own category.

Rice is an excellent player with huge yardage. He doesn't get the ball in the red zone because he's small. We give him the ball between the 20s where he's got lots of open room to take advantage of his speed. We give the ball to McGahee when we need someone to pound through for a two yard TD and finish the drive.

Rice and McGahee's TDs are entirely a function of whose being given the ball and when.

Not only that McGahee did get the majority of carries against the Chargers....so I dont know what the deal is Harbaugh and Cameron are doing exactly what they said.

Here's my 2 cents. I wouldn't want to be Brady Quinn this week. I've got a feeling that after all the yards we gave up to SD, our defense will want to make a statement. I'm sure our D has heard everyone saying that we're lost without Ryan, we're on the decline, we're not a top tier defense anymore, etc. I really expect our D to be flying around this Sunday, and put a hurting on the Browns' offense. I'm betting everyone on the D is thinking shutout this week! B)

DID NOT PARTICIPATE IN PRACTICE
OT Jared Gaither (illness)
LB Jarret Johnson (shoulder)
CB Fabian Washington (illness)

LIMITED PARTICIPATION IN PRACTICE
DT Justin Bannan (knee)

FULL PARTICIPATION IN PRACTICE
S Tom Zbikowski (concussion)
TE L.J. Smith (hamstring)

Looks like the injuries are not as severe considering two have illnesses (possibly sick).

Looks like it's forecasted to rain on Sunday which may mean a lot of rushing for both teams. We'll have to see what happens. We all know how Maryland weather is.

my prediction we win 2-0 in over time (doing this with my recent history it may end up we win by a blow out) this will happen when on a 1st and 10 on the 30 brady quin is sacked in the endzone running from trevor pryce he will knock himself out on the goal post and then get up and ask why he is in the wrong town to be playing for the new england packers.

noet this will be at the end of over time joe will take knees all game to look at the browns in pitty

I think the good thing is that we match up really well against the Browns. They are giving up TONS of yards on the ground so I think that's where we will concentrate on O. Pound the rock with Rice and McGahee all day. Also, they are a better running O than passing, so again we match up very well with that. The only real advantage they have is ST and there have been multiple topics on that subject. I think Flacco has a pretty quiet game as our RBs pound the Browns into submission.
