Apologies To Frank Walker

132 posts in this topic

Pretty much every fan including myself wanted this guy out and then he comes up big and punches the ball out of a would of been touchdown reception. Hes really our only physical corner and I don't think any of our other CB's could of made that play. Thanks Frank.

I too would like to offer my condolences to Mr.Walker. I wanted you out and to keep D.Martin, not that 1 game totally rectifies your preseason performance and you may not be the best corner ive ever seen but you showed why your a professional today Frank, props.

Dear Frank Walker,

I've criticized you a lot over time but today you did a really good job. For that I congratulate you and offer my apology.

P.S I still hate you and wouldn't start you if I were in charge of this team.

Sincerely,
Shawn

Bahaha worst apology ever, some of the stuff I read on this board is more priceless and classic than stand up comedians.

I started talking ish as soon as he got in the game and then ate my words one play later. Thanks Frank!

We should thank Frank for that big time game saving play (that was huge), but we shouldn't apologize to him because most of the criticisms were justified at the time! :P

But fair play to the guy he has stepped up when we've needed it a couple of times.

I'm not gonna be all lame and write up a something like I'm actually talking to Frank Walker, but I will say big props to Frank today, he saved us and I felt terrible for punching my living room couch whenever I saw him on the field this preseason for the 5 minutes after the play.

I haven't criticized him since the beginning of last season. He matured into a relatively good player around the last half of last season. I really like him and want to see him at nickel more. I'm also comfortable with him being our #2 corner when Fabian goes down.

I don't know what you fans were looking at last year, he has been highly shut down in regular season games. Just now getting recognition. Better late than never.

One big play doesn't always make up for 5 blown plays, but as long as he bends but doesn't break I can live with that... otherwise we ship your hindquarters off to Cleveland!

Great job Frank. No need to apologize 2u cause I've been in your corner since day 1 at Giants! Ur the best!
[/quote]
The best? He is just another number 2 caliber CB. I know Fabian is a better cornerback than Foxworth. I'm sold Fabian is a #1 caliber CB. Walker is and has been under-rated.

They were picking on him with NeNe (?) and they kept picking on him. Walker just held his own, and he did his job.

Walker did his job for once that's all, apologize for what? Everytime we put him in the game, he gets picked on. He needs to consistently play decent. Every team has it in their books to pick on Frank Walker, there's a reason for that. He's a poor corner.

Wait until next week, when he gets blown for a TD. And most of you will be right back to Frankie Sucks train.

Since when is Foxworth my boy? I dare you to find me once say anything about Foxworth. Actually I've been hating on all our CBs. They need some work, especially against big physical receiver.

I saw this coming before we even starting the game. I thought the key was pressure, because if Rivers had time to throw, he'd burn us with the big receivers. And he did just that.

And they were picking on Frank Walker. They were picking on all our CBs.

FYI, I get so sick of this "what have you've done for me lately crap". Frank Walker breaks up a big play, and next thing you know he's our best defender ever.

Just wait til Flacco has a bad game and the Troy Smith lovers come out of the woodworks, but for now he's "our QB".

Your pointing your finger at the wrong people. Corners were in position covering the island like water. I have seen consistent success from Walker.

Yes. I wish people can see TRENDS. Not just bring up the last five minutes. It's the same characteristic that can be found in dogs.

There needs to be consistency over the long run, especially from Frank.

That's probably why he was on the bubble of being cut. He was too consistent for the coaches likings.

I support Frank Walker, and I hope he does well over the long run. He's a Raven - and I want him to kick ******. Its not really him I'm frustrated at, its the fans that's all. And I'm always up for fun banter.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Walker has still proven nothing. Every squirrel finds a nut....especially when that nut is a #4 WR. If Walker does this: 1. consistently and 2. against guys who aren't bums, then maybe I'll reconsider. Until then, I'll just smile and nod my head when he does something right.

Love him or hate him Harbaugh said he doesn't care what people say about Walker and that he thinks he's a heck of a player. I mean, if he is developing some sort of clutch ability to save the game (thats a big if) then who cares if he gives up 500 yards? like Ray says stats are cute but the only thing that matters is the W.

Foxworth may not be McCallister, but he has that rare ability to shake off being beat and go right at the guy on the next play. He was like a great hitter in baseball who strikes out the first three times up but wins the game in the ninth with a clutch hit.

I wanted Walker from the start. After today I really miss out physical corners. We gave up a ton of passing yards today, I hope we get this fixed.

I've always liked Walker. At the End of last season he wasn't playing as well as he was in the Mid-Season. I think he could be a great player. Just no stupid mistakes please. Someone has to step up. I don't care who it is but we have no shutdown corner.

I'm not gonna say told you so but I knew why we kept him. He is our only physical cornerback and is a great press corner. He plays big on big time recievers but usually lets smaller guys blow past him or juke him.
