I was never sold on Landry in coverage, unless he was in a short zone (ie cov 3 zone) I always thought he was vulnerable.

The man has all the physical tools and showed signs that he had the instincts to be a ballhawk as a rookie in '06, but he suffers from the same communication problems that his brother LaRon does on the Redskins.

You might have a point, but two games is a bit early; the real test will be Week 4 against the Pats since that's the end of the first quarter of the season.

Also keep in mind, Rivers is an elite QB; this defense is still trying to adjust to Mattison's scheme. If they don't have their stuff together by Week 4, [i]then[/i] we can panic.

Actually thats a pretty smart comparison/ not one people would think to draw comparison to. It seems like the less you tell Laron the better he is, the less responsibility and less he has to think he plays better. Almost like hes better playing on pure instinct.

But the thing with the NFL is you cant take time to figure stuff out, you have to be on all cylinders clicking from the get go (unless ur in the NFC West last year) otherwise by the time you figure it out its too late.

This is true. But again, patience is a virtue. So long as the defense doesn't cost the team a game, taking two more games to evaluate won't hurt much... *fingers crossed*
