We should be able to just run allllll over them this game

Yep, tis true.

Kind of speechless right now. I mean, Hardwick anf LT for the near term....that sucks really really bad, but I think is something to work through.

Losing the starting NT for a 3-4 Defense (for the season) is far far worse. To make matters worse....we have no replacement. Really, amazing isn't it? No replacment.

Going to be a fun day tomorrow boys.

Don't be so sure. Although we do have a really strong running game, the Ravens were able to overcome the lost of Kelly Gregg last season and we all know important buddy lee is.

They still have some really good talent on the dline with Travis Johnson and Casstilo. They also have a really strong LB group.

So while things appear to be shaping up well for the Ravens in this game, it will still be a hard fought battle agianst a really good team.

The Ravens have to come out with even more passion, intensity and focus then last week.

The Ravens proved last year that good teams don't use injuries as an excuse not to win. I'm sure the Chargers will be looking to do the same thing.

On a sidenote. We have some really good talent and depth at the Dline postion. I wonder how high of a draft choice would the Chargers be willing to give for one of our DTs. Anything better then a 4 and I say pull the trigger.

Well, you still have a ton of talent heading on the field tomorrow. We still have to stop Rivers, Gates and Jackson, and hope that we don't turn the ball over.

But hey, we made it to the AFCCG last year with 16 guys on IR, 3 of those guys were defensive starters, another was one of our most talented (but unproven) WR. No reason SD can't either, especially in that division.

Travis Johnson has already been ruled out for this game as well. Castillo was injured and missed some practice but I think he is listed as probable. Still, that's 2 of 3 d-line starters out for San Diego. Hopefully that bodes well for our entire offense tomorrow.

I think the loss of Hardwick for this game is gonna be huge for our defense. I don't wanna say much else because I'm not sure who will be their center and for all we know, whoever gets the nod could come out mauling our d-line. That said, I can see Haloti and old Buddy Lee having a good day. We should be good defending up the middle but our linebackers are really gonna have to be on top of their game, workin sideline to sideline, because they are gonna try and get Sproles to the outside on some tosses and screens.

No disrespect to Jamal, who is a monster, but I suspect we would have ran the ball effectively with or without him in the lineup.

Williams kinda snuck by with this injury. There was no mention of his injury starting the week, but he showed up on the injury report on Wed. Then next thing you know he's out for the year.

That is a crushing blow to the defense. You can't lose your huge point man in the 3-4 and not suffer the consequences. But like they always say. Next Man Up. Sometimes that man is a a future hall-of-famer in disguise.

Isn't Johnson out as well? Jamal was a big surprise to me especially since he went from Questionable to IR in a day.

Yes, Johnson is out as well. And considering he has yet to play a down as a Charger it is hard to really guage what he brings to the position or team.

Not sure what we're going to do. Nwagbuo, an undrafted FA rookie, who didn't play his first organized football game until junior college is the only guy I can think of to put in that role tomorrow. He's small though at 300 lbs. On a bright note, he was the ONLY Charger to get a sack the other night against the Raiders.

Ron Rivera has been implementing some 4-3 looks, so I expect him to use as much 4-3 as the team is ready for with Merriman as a DE.

Should be an interesting day, just to see what they come up with.

I'll take that. Merriman isn't much of a hybrid player,he's great as a pass-rushing OLB, but as a DE? It might slow his game down a bit. And considering he's still bouncing back from the injury, it could be a quiet night for Merriman.

We should really be able to play against Merriman's strengths in this game. If it's a 3-4 we are against, then we rush down the middle. If it's a 4-3 with Merriman as a pass-rushing OLB, screen passes are going to kill the Chargers. And if he's a straight up DE, then I expect him to struggle.

its pretty simple to me. they turn the ball over (assuming we score on D)or (disrupt Rivers' confindence), we win. We turn it over (our O respond as they did against the Chiefs), it's a nail bitter. I may be wrong though! But I think Turnovers and Special Teams will tell the story of whether we win or not

OUCH. This is just...OUCH. I almost feel bad for the Chargers. This is just the latest in a series of HUGE blows to the team.

To be honest, as confident as a lot of us are about the game tomorrow, this only puts more pressure on the Ravens since this is a game that they have no excuse to lose. Though San Diego still has Philip Rivers, Antonio Gates, Shawne Merriman, and loads more talent on both sides of the ball, for them to lose so many key cogs for this game (and beyond that, in some cases) creates a situation where team chemistry is more important now than ever.

Talk about being a huge test for both teams, the Chargers almost need this game to see where they stand more than the Ravens do! If this is the type of adversity San Diego will see the rest of this season, that AFC West crown may be up for grabs now.

I hear you, but really...the Bolts have no excuse to lose either. We're at home, and still have some pretty decent guys suiting up. No doubt there is a huge impact due to injuries, but good teams...teams that want to be called champions have to find a way to beat adversity. If we're a good football team, we'll beat the Ravens tomorrow.

Not hearing the Steelers toss thier hopes over Polomanu...Eagles haven't thrown in the towel last I checked with a hurt McNabb. Look at the Bears....lol....sorry about that...Cutler sucks so bad that Urlacher is probably happy he's done for the year.

Look, it is what it is....tomorrow we find out a lot about both teams.

This is true. And I've said time-and-again, a championship team is only as good as its depth. If the Chargers deserve to be considered a championship team, they'll have to find a way to win even with these injuries.

Conversely, the Ravens have to find a way to win in spite of the warmer weather, the time difference, the crowd, and most importantly, the caliber of opponent. The Chargers are a very good football team, so anyone expecting a cakewalk because of this and other injuries is sorely mistaken.

Due to the lack of deapth they now have only 2 DTs even if running a 4-3 this is going to be messy for their d-cord cause now he needs to worry about what de can fill in should some one in the middle get popped by oher birk or worse McClain. as it stands thier DEs are Castillo,Cesaire, Martin Their DTs are Nwagbuo and Bingham. if they dont hunt down some more DTs in FA it will be a VERY long season

Honestly I'm looking forward to ou defense in this game. We all know that our D likes playing on the road, because it's quiet when they're up. They make better reads, can adapt and communicate better with teammates. I think this will be an all-star performance by the D on the road.
