Jets Vs Patriots This Week

22 posts in this topic

I was just thinking that the game between the Jets and the Patriots will be perfect film for the Ravens to look over once we face the Pats.I think it's fair to say that the way our defense plays is a similar style to the Jets style of play obviously(Rex Ryan) and the scheduling for this game couldn't have been any better. Don't have to worry about playing under cold conditions and Tom Brady is still trying to get a little of his mojo back from that season layoff (judging from the Bills-Pats games, he hasn't lost that much). Also, I'm not tryng to sound like I'm jumping ahead b/c make no mistake, Chargers is really my only concern right now!

What do you think about this?

I don't think that Kets defense is ready to go toe to toe with the Pats just yet.

Watching the Hou/NYJ games it was clear that they didn't game plan well for the blitz that Rex would bring. I think you can be sure the Pats has watch as much flim from the Ravens as possible. They will be better pepared for Rex's overloads and schemes.

Also Bart Scott really didn't do a good job of tackling in that game, if he misses those can of tackles Sunday, the Pats will make them pay.

All in all, I think it wil be some good flim to watching but we might not get a blueprint for that Pats offense. We me just see a lot of what not to do, more so then what to do.

I really like Rex, be we all saw what that Pats offense did to the Steelers D back in 07' for talking trash and I don't think the Jets are in the Steelers class just yet in defense.

Rex and the Jets will live by the blitz and probably die because of it. The Ravens will not do the same.

This game might expose the Pats Oline a bit, but the Ravens will have to use their speed on defense to controll the Pats offense imo.

Rex has that Jet defense in tip top shape. As for New England their offense is the best but their defense has taken a step backwards. The Ravens or anybody else can move the ball on them.

I totally agree! With (hopefully) no cheating and an average D, I think more of their games will be close and definitely possible for teams to win.

i agree this game will be the perfect film to watch,,, as for last weeks pats game brady started very slow im sure that will change but maybe hesstill warming up when we play,, our defense will take quick advantage of those off throws,,, go defense ,,with joe flacco throwing the way he did in the 1st game im proud to have that offensive deep threat in our game now

I have been saying that I think we have a very good chance with New England. Getting pressure on Brady is very important, he is a very below average passer when he is running. On offense, I think we have a huge advantage. We should be able to put a lot of points on them

So far it looks like the answer is to blitz the crap out of brady, and just hit him doesnt even matter if you get the sack. Only problem with that tho is that the Jets have a shutdown corner who can tackle and we arguably dont. Rex is relying alot on his DBs ability to tackle in the open field in this game and his corners are rewarding his faith in them. I dont exactly like the idea of Washington/Foxworth tackling Moss in the open field one on one.

Jets D looks like they know the scheme pretty well, Brady just doesnt look like Brady. And why havent they taken any deep shots to Moss? I know Brady fell in bromance with Welker in 07 but I mean come on you have other weapons. This is exactly why you dont key in on one guy every play because if that guy is out who do you throw to.

Because Welker & Moss were so dangerous because they were both there. Add the fact that people were afraid to have a guy blitz and that gives Brady all day to find a receiver.

Does anybody else think its weird Belichek brought in all those veterans for a super bowl run, then traded Vrabel, (if u ask me) forced Bruschi to retire, and then traded Seymour. But at the same time went after Bodden, Springs, Galloway and Taylor?

nice win for the Jets! how lucky are the Pats that they aren't 0-2? and Sanchez played pretty well, didn't Favre his passes, and got stronger the 2nd half. This one was also for the Sanchez haters :D
