Coaching Ratings

What do they base coaching ratings on? Is it the head coach specifically or the entire staff? And what characteristics.

The main reason i ask is b/c I noticed something disturbing while playing the Falcons online yesterday. Their coaching is rated at 3, and the Ravens are at 1...

If its strictly based on the head coach that makes no sense. I know everyone only mentions Mike Smith as the first rookie head coach to take a rookie QB to the playoffs, and he won COTY...but c/mon harbs took us to the AFC title game. Whatever rank the two teams are, they should be equal.

Yeah I noticed that too it really bothers me. We should at least be at 2 bars. Yeah the falcons having 3 bothers me as well.

And of course the Steelers of course are 3. Mike Tomlin inherited a good team and of course they have a great 3 bars.

Tomlin deserves it, hes a great coach...Not a fair comparison there. Atlanta and Baltimore on the other hand are a direct comparison. Rookie HCs, Rookie QBs, same record, both make playoffs, Ravens go further...Falcons coaching get a MUCH better rating...dont get it.

i could have to do with the fact that we lost rex but i agree we should atleast be a 2. i think madden just likes to hate on us. i was hoping with the update that we would be boosted but as it shows no matter how well we do they will still hate on us.

No Clue, won the Superbowl 3 times in franchise with same coach and it never moved from 1. I don't believe coaching affects anything in game online though.

I've found that it really has no effect on the game whatsoever, but it is frustrating to see the Ravens in general get the short end of the stick. I play as the Saints a lot and they have Sean Peyton ranked at 2 bars. I mean c'mon the dude was CotY in 06 and is probably one of the smartest offensive coaches there are. Madden developers are forever on the Falcons and the Steelers.
