Jerod Mayo Out 6-8 Weeks For Pats

9 posts in this topic

Jerod Mayo, the '08 rookie Defensive player of the Year for the Pats, will be out 6-8 weeks with a MCL sprain - missing the Ravens / Patriots game.

A weak Pats D that lost Richard Seymour, Mike Vrabel, and Teddy Bruschi, has lost a key defensive player - and they looked sad against the hapless Bills Offense last night.

Helps the Ravens' chances vs. the Pats...

Everybody's jumping on the Patriots Slob wagon once again. But their D is awful. And they are missing key ingredients left and right. This is definitely not the undefeated Pats team we saw a few years ago.

I dig our chances against them, even more now that Mayo will probably be out.

How much can the Patriots really rely on offensive to win games, is the question this year.

I agree, I originally had New England beating Baltimore. But with the way the Patriots played against the Bills, and now with Mayo out for our game, I think we have a very good chance at getting out of Foxborough with a win. At very least it'll break down into a (relatively) high scoring game. That's only if our defense struggles against the New England offense. But Brady looked kind of sluggish, aside from those game winning drives. Mayo being out definitely gives an edge to Baltimore.

Nows even more of a time to run straight at them hard and lots. Wilfork looked like a mess on Monday night trying to deal with a no huddle offense, I saw him once not even in his 3 point stance. Green and Warren are good players but I dont see that D stopping the run without 8 in the box and Springs and Bodden arent good enough to be thrown on an island. A.D. is going to have to do his best Ray Lew impression in the middle the next couple of weeks to shore up that run D.

Can you imagine how Wilfork must feel come the 4th quarter. We've been dominated TOP, and McClain just keeps bashing and bashing him? And mind you this is after a long days work of trying to stop Rice & McGahee and going up against Matt Birk.

I'd wanna retire and eat cheeseburgers.

I agree, I can't believe everyone is picking them to win the Super Bowl with such an average defense.

Thats exactly what Im hoping for, dominate the clock and let Wilfork get tired. If he gets tired and cant take on double teams anymore that run defense is gonna be absolutely aweful.

I don't care how injured the pats are or what players they have lost..I want nothing more than the Ravens to go into Boston and slaughter them.
