You Pick 'em

99 posts in this topic

Personally, it'd be easier for me to go back and check picks in new threads. But I'm not sure the Mods would be too keen on that. So what I might do, is after week 5 (for example), I'll start a new thread. So it doesn't get too cluttered. And I'm updating that chart every week :P So a new one will be posted each monday night.

And just for reference (so no one can claim ignorance), if you don't choose picks for a week or for a game in a week, you'll automatically get a loss for that week or game.

Don't mean to tell you how to do it, but throwing a suggestion out there, but possibly grade it on percentage(s), sorry <--- I'm joining late, but was just thinking that might be fair for the late comers granted being late we deserve to miss out :)
The only problem I have with that is that it, essentially, gives an unfair advantage to those who joined late. For example, let's say you join 2 weeks late. That gives you 32 games you didn't have to pick for, while those who have been around since day one, had to. You'd have more chances to get a higher percentage. It'd kind of be a slap in the face to those who picked from day one if someone ended up #1 at the end when they only picked, say, 7 weeks out of 16 (since we missed week one.

If more people want to join, I could do something like... say a "BR.com You Pick 'Em Practice Squad" ranking. Meaning, anyone who wants to join late would be set aside in another, seperate ranking. Those standings could be kept as an overall percentage. Lemme know what you think, and if we can get additional people to pick.

I think this is a good idea. Because who knows how many people are going to continue to post picks each week. It's a simple calculation so it doesn't add any time. Then at the end you have a winner for win % (minimum of 5 weeks) and most wins.

Just open a new thread "Pick' Em Week 3". It is easier to track this way. I'm sure the Moderators will understand. And they can always shut down the last one for us.

Well, I can't catch you no matter who wins tonight. I can't even gain a game on ya since you ALSO picked the Phins.

Man and to think last night I had it in my head that I picked the Colts. I thought I had a 13-16 record until I saw your comment.

Yeah I understand what you mean, you could probably do it both ways, if its not too much trouble to see the stats for total wins and total percentage and what not, cause I actually started thinking about that after I posted it, and I really don't want to slap people in the face, cause I know I would hate getting screwed over... I'll def try my luck at playing catch up if need be :)

A way to remedy this is to let us each omit our two worse weeks at the end. It's like a teacher who gives you 15 quizzes, but only counts the 13 best. That would be fair for everyone. Whattaya think?

Of course, those of us who missed week 1 would only be able to omit one bad week.

I like that idea, Warden. I'll see if anymore than RedDawn join. No one picked week one, since this started in two. So I'll have to see who makes picks and who doesn't. Until then, I think I'm gonna add RedDawn to the rankings tentatively.

Can a Mod please close this thread.

We opened a new one so that it is easier to track people's picks. We can continue our discussion in there.

SteelersProphet - please repost in the BR Pick Em Week 3 Thread.
