Papa John's

55 posts in this topic

So just like last year, Papa John's will be giving out a free topping and double that amount if they win, on a large $10 pizza. So for this week since we scored 5 touchdowns and won Papa John's is giving out 10 free toppings!! Also the deal is only good on the following Monday after the game. Its a win win situation and a dream come true if you ask me. Tonight I will be getting 3x Pepperoni, 3x Bacon, 3x Extra Cheese and Mushrooms. What will your 10 free toppings be?? GO RAVENS!!

Is Papa Johns any good? I liked Dominos' Hawaiian Pizza (I know), but living so close to New York I get what I consider the best pizza in the world. They say it's the water they use to make the dough.

Papa John's doesn't deliver to Steelers fans, especially if you happen to live in Maryland.

Lucky ****s, I am close to DC so the toppings for touchdowns is based on the Deadskins performance.

Also warden, Papa Johns is about the best that can be done around here for those who live outside of NYC or Chicago.

Thank you.

You know, I did hear there was a NYC Pizza Parlor owner who moved to N.C. and payed $$Thousands to have a special water filtration system brought down to duplicate the NYC water (again, the water is apparently the key to the pizza dough). In fact, let me see if I can find a link.....

UPDATE: Can't find a link. But there are a number of them who have the ingredients shipped from NYC to N.C.

I'm craving pizza now.

i BEG you all, don't buy those franchise pizzas. they're really not that good. i'm so sick of it 'cause my dad doesn't seem to know any better and doesn't want to trust the local independents. god i hate papa johns. every ravens game or pacquiao fight, papa johns. i know it can be tough to try something new, but i beg you, try out your local independent pizza place. the worse it looks from the outside, the better the pizza is inside. 9 times out of ten, it will taste so much better than papa johns, dominos, pizza hut, and pizza boli.

by far the best pizza i've ever had in my life is Gianni's in severn, md, near arundel mill's mall. please look it up and support them.

Admittedly you have a point, this is the pizza I got from the local place behind my apartment Generous Joes, and it was still very good for work lunches this week, especially because they don't use canned mushrooms :D

I'm not surprised, seems to be a lot of food places doing that these days. There's a deli out in Phoenix that gets all their meats from NYC (all the staff is from NYC or NJ), and I know of a cheesesteak place around here that gets their rolls from Philly.

I've had Pizza in New York (although the best is in Jersey City); Crab Cakes in the Inner Harbour; Lobster in Maine; but I have never had a cheese steak in Philly. Trust me, it is on the list. My Cop Buddy lives down there and promised to take me for one next time. There are two places two choose from (according to Philadelphians), this one is just over the bridge on the way to the airport (pretty near the Link).

My friend dared me to eat the garlic that papa johns gives you with the pizza. I did. It was nasty. It's not even garlic, it's just....butter.

WRONG!! The best pizza is in Chicago. Their thin crust is super thin and delicious. And they cut it in squares so you think you're eating more pizza than you actually are.

Plus a bunch of pizza places here have deep dish pizza which makes me do something in my pants.

Oh contraire monfrare.

NY/NJ = The BEST thin crust pizza. Many places serve it square, but round in a square box is the tradition. It MUST have the grease/oil dripping back into your hand in order to even be counted as pizza IMHO.

Chicago = The BEST deep dish pizza, but I am not a big fan.

Ick, I skip using that stuff. Mix some EV Olive Oil with some chopped garlic, or garlic powder in a pinch. It's way tastier than that over-salted butter "sauce"

Jim's on South Street or Geno's (forget the street name) are the two best places to get cheesesteaks. Don't let your friend take you to Pat's, they're awful.

Not a huge fan of chain pizza, but I save the garlic butter to make garlic bread with spaghetti--yummy. Now that my stepson moved out we hardly ever get delivery pizza.
