Urlacher Out For The Season

28 posts in this topic

So after watching Cutler throw the ball around the field like a total clown, the Bears lose Urlacher for the season with a dislocated wrist.

That is huge news. I heard the commentators saying he's in for a huge healthy season. Looks like not.

Looking forward to playing that Bears defense. They looked pretty poor.

And so begins the collapse of the Chicago Bears? Sure, Cutler is the first genuine franchise QB they've had in decades, but if he keeps making the mistakes that he made against the Packers (and best believe he will), he'll be responsible for quite a few of the Bears' losses this season. I feel as if the Bears will keep running in place and not really get anywhere in the NFC North because of the schedule they have; playing the AFC North won't be easy, even with the Browns and Bengals underachieving last season. The Bengals look like they might have a little bit of their old offensive explosiveness back, and the Browns are largely inconsistent (but apparently good enough to hang with the Vikings.)

Even though there's still 15 games left for them to play, this still looks like a long season for the Bears if they can't hang with the Packers or Vikings or even Lions.

Why would a dislocated wrist put a LB out for the season? Can't they just stabilize it and let him play? Ray played with a dislocated shoulder.

Urlacher is more fragile, I guess. I'm not entirely sure, but Urlacher may have a longer injury history than Ray.

I was wondering that too. They could put one of those huge hand casts on him. I've seen players with broken hands and wrists play with those before. Will Demps comes to mind.

Woah, there's no need to bring the Lions into this, lol. Sure, he looked bad against a great secondary, but Detroit is just a whole 'nother ball game. Next week is going to be bad though.

Brian Dawkins did it in the pre-season games, I believe.

I was surprised too, when I heard this. What happened to toughing it out?

Dislocated wrist could mean so many things. There are lots, of bones/tendons/ligament in there and there could be nerve damage. Serious business if he want to retain the use of his hand for the remainder of his life.

Did you see the interceptions the Packers actually missed, in addition to the 4 he threw? He could have had at least 6 INTs.

Chicago is in trouble, if Cutler doesn't turn it around immediately. And this week they play the Steelers.

I think you're right... so begins the collapse of the Bears.

Ofcourse the Bears Melt down happens right before they play the Steelers.

So let me get this straight. The Steelers will get to play the Bears who 1) have an un-adjusted QB that just finished throwing 4 picks and 2) have just lost their best player to a season long injury and will need to adapt for that as well?

Man I hate those Steelers. It's not their fault. But is their any chance that Phillip Rivers throws 4 interceptions tonight, and Merriman falls and breaks his butt bone?

Stop being hypocritical Warden! :D

I hope the Chiefs end up going 15-1 in spite.

Now would be a good time to see if the Bears are interested in one of our linebackers (Barnes, Burgess). They do not have much in terms of personnel that we would want. But perhaps a late round draft pick.

A short article on PFT (I know  :P ) regarding the Bills possibly being in the market for a LB...

Posluszny's broken arm puts Bills in LB market

According to Buffalo head coach Dick Jauron, Bills middle linebacker Paul Posluszny will be down for "several weeks" with a broken left arm. The development puts Buffalo in the market for linebacker help this week...

Well looks like we catch a lucky break as well, since Hardwick, Vasquez and LT might be out. And the Chargers are coming off a poor performance.

The AFC North is going to be a tough division this year.

yea but in my opinion the steelers and ravens (worst case) will go 11-3 maybe 10-4(excluding head to head games)

so it will come down to the head to head games

wouldnt have it any other way :)

What Ive read around the net on different news sites is that there was severe damage done to the joint in his wrist during the dislocation which made it require surgery and the long rehab time. I like most of you thought when I heard dislocation he'd be out for 2-4 weeks max, but I guess his wrist got really messed up.

I see it that way too. But two teams can make for a tough division. I meant tough like a race to the the finish between the Steelers and Ravens.
