Just thinking about this game...it would be a tremendous win, if it happens, which I absolutely don't take for granted at all. If the Ravens win we:
1) beat a hyped SB contender on their turf
2) elevate ourselves to national prominence after being generally overlooked following a deceivingly close game against KC
3) set ourselves up really well for the rest of the first half of the season, with the Pats' game being the next big hurdle
4) singlehandedly smash a lot of the preconceived notions a lot of folks have about this team ("all defense, no offense"; a good but not elite organization; old and declining D; no playmakers at wideout)
5) prove a lot of pundits wrong as many are picking the Bolts (perhaps rightfully so given the last meeting we had with them). On a personal level I'd really like to see MeShawn and Carter eat their words.

A lot of this hinges not on just our defense but on our offense and specifically Joe's performance. He was razor sharp at times last week and came through when it counted. This could be one of those watershed type games, where our offense takes the next step. Pretty exciting stuff.

A loss would not end the promise of a great season by any means, but a win could accomplish so much. I think Cam, Joe, and the rest of the guys have it in them.
Unfortunately, it looks like Sproles might be the starter. Maybe be too tired to do special teams returns; that's what I'm really worried about.
You will likely see Bennett and Sproles splitting the RB duties and Sproles doing the kick returns. Maybe 'Bust'er Davis on PRs.

Sproles returning kicks scares me a lot more than him rushing. He looked dangerous against Oakland and we had trouble last year with good returners

All in all the odds are not in the Ravens favor. SD coming off a bad loss, and playing their home opener. I don't feel to good about us coming out with a "W". LT is still in question to play but we are left with a dynamic Sproles. Either way the Ravens "D" will have their hands full in the running game, no matter who's starting at rb for SD. For The Ravens to win this game the secondary must play their "A" game. So that means some guys have to play double coverage in the back field and watch out for the pass over the middle. If we can keep Rivers under 300yds the Ravens have a good chance for a great win on the road. Special teams has to play great as well. If we don't do this right out of the gate, you can kiss the game goodbye. Remember, SD was bullied on national TV and I think they will have something to prove against a great defense. Mr. Hauschka we may need you!

San Diego probably should have lost, but they did win 24 - 20. Hopefully it doesn't come down to Hauschka. Nothing against Steve, I just hope we're up by a couple scores. ;)

Yup, special teams could make or break us this week.

I think LT would be a total non-factor with the injury and running style. Sproles could get "some" yards.

Well,if our special teams have trouble tomorrow, The Ravens need to call an emergency meeting to fix the issue becuz our chances for success will decrease. This problem has been our problem for a long time as we all know. It's bad enuff that we're nervous about our kicker, we have to scratch our heads about this as well? Come on maaaaaaaan!
