So, what are all your thoughts for our game Sunday In San Diego at 4:15?

I think, if our offense can keep the intensity like they did today, we can really take a load off the defense. Its great being able to score now, and the Defense doesn't have to for us.Do You guys realize how much better our Defense must feel now? They do there job and sit and rest, then watch Flacco take control.

Now for the Defense, we need to get more of a pass rush on Philip Rivers. He is a hell of a QB. He has a quick release and has good pocket presence. If we can get in his face, and make him force a few, it will be easier for our DB's which need to have a good game like they did today. Fabian needs to learn to smack the ball down on that long pass today, but other than that, secondary looked solid. I am confident our run D can hold LT. Hes really good at finding the gap, and once he does hes gone. Run D looked outstanding today, 28 yards they gave up? If they run, I can imagine it being up the gut. Our D is too fast for outside sweeps. I anticipate quick bubble screens. Suggs needs to play at home and stop getting sucked in all the time, but he has gotten better at that.

If we apply the pressure, move the ball and take advantage of a turnover or 2, This game can very well be a W for us. Thoughts?

We beat them the last few meetings. However, it has nuthin to do with this one. But,I hope we pass rush more frequently to force sum mistakes. Turnovers have always given us an edge. Unfortunately, today we didnt get a turnover until the end. If we can get one or two this sunday, We definitely should win since we are scoring points now.

The Chargers seem to start off slow and come into form when the playoffs are on the line... but I don't know, the AFC West isn't exactly the toughest division. The Ravens under John Harbaugh seem to be good on the road, but we'll see. It's too early to tell for me, though.

We'll have to see what SD does tonight. Teams can change so much during the course of a season.

I'm hoping that SD trend of starting off poor continues. Ofcourse they did put up 148 points (29.6 ppg) in the first 5 games of last year.

2008: 2-3 start
2007: 2-3 start

They like to get pressure on the QB. So this is the perfect time to perfect the screen pass to Rice & McGahee. If we can do this effectively w/ short pass patterns. We will compete and win in this game, if the defense can at least have an average game.

We are going to struggle with their distribution of passes. Teams that use a wide variety of threats are the teams that do well against us. The Chargers have that.

I know one thing. Come Monday morning. LT is going to be feeling that 30 y.o. RB syndrome.

eh... i think we should set back in a base defense. a quick release is killer just like big ben avoiding tackles. If we blitz and the pressure ain't there...we look dumb. Lets set back and make phillip river try to read the DB's & LB's in coverage and let the front 3 or maybe 4 man rush cause a coverage sack.

we need coverage sacks to get to an elite level this yr. blitzing to get sacks hurt us last yr....
it's nice to mix it up, but coverage sacks really kills an offense's spirit and makes a statement of us being a more physical team.

i was there when the ravens last played the chargers in san diego...it was not fun for me or any other raven fan watching the game in attendance and at home! If i recall correctly, it was a major butt whoopin! i was so mad that day my girlfriend (a charger fan) was the one on the receiving end of my distraught and disappointment (not to mention that after that loss, every charger fan at Qualcomm that passed by me definetely had something smart to say about the two of us as a couple walking towards the trolley station--"leave that loser and get with a winner, come with us and ditch that raven...he sucks, and my favorite...hey ray ray, don't go killing anyone after the game now!"). Anyways, Joe Cool and the boys on offense are gonna expose that charger secondary for what it is: Secondary! and Ray Ray and the D are gonna stuff P. B. rivers, B. L. T. and his lil sidekick pickles! Damn im getting hungry. just like the ravens come this sunday vs the chagers! GO EAT 'EM UP RAVENS!!!!

3-4 Defenses are based on blitzing, if your not blitzing in a 3-4 then you shouldnt be in the 3-4. While I agree being in base at times will get rid of ridiculous coverage assignments (ie Ngata on the steelers HB). It would be nice to see a crazy blitz every now and then to dial up pressure and keep the QB guessing. This will be a big test for our corners because the chargers have a big physical receiving corps.

Will travelling West and playing at 4:15 Eastern time affect the team at all?

I'm not really worried but whatever problems the secondary had in communications need to be fixed. I don't like Rivers but he will pick the secondary apart if they aren't on the same page.

Offensively, Flacco needs to improve a bit but I'm confident the team will be able to pound the rock against San Diego, as good as their front seven is. San Diego has some good players in the secondary but I think Mason, Heap, Clayton and Washington will be able to expose them.

My thought is I wish I got tickets when I had the chance, instead of being "economically responsible".

Chargers fans are the worst in the league in terms of sheer ******ness and I would have loved to see them react to a beat-down by the Ravens. On the flip side if the Ravens lost it would have been a LONG walk back to the car.

Yep. I was at the Dolphins game two years ago when we handed them their only win. Not fun.

Will see tonight what the Chargers might be like. Rivers is a good QB and with time will pick apart the ravens secondary, the key is pass rush. The Chargers in past play good defense, again will see tonight. Ravens defense will need to cause some turnovers to win this game, its a must. Let see what the Chargers look like tonight and make opinions then.

im more worried about this game then the pats game. I think that the chargers are a team that if they are all on the same page are very dangerous. i really think this game will really test our defense. i feel that we can beat them but it will be a long low scoring game.

Brady's not a crybaby like little Phil. We can pound him and get him flustered.

Special Teams will have to get their stuff together. There won't be that big a margin for error.

I agree Special teams have got to step up! The Ravens have more weapons now then they had last year this time. It they put it all together Sunday against the Chargers...they will win. B)

Ladanian thinks hes gonna prove sumthin to his Critics, Especially (Adrien Peterson) by tryin to become a downhill/power Back. I hope he makes that mistake against us this Sunday. He's gonna get himself Hurt and cause his team to suffer this year.

Ravens are already 5 point underdogs, and SD hasnt even started their game with OAK yet. Aint that a blip?
Thats crazy man! Regardless of how the so-called elite teams of the Afc perform prior to playing us, we will always be the underdog somehow. If the Chargers play crappy or lose tonight, and the Patriots play at the same level theyv played tonight until we meet them, we will still be the underdog.

Not really. The Chargers have beaten the Raiders 11 consecutive times, and really, it's Oakland.

The Ravens are traveling across the country to a team that spanked them in the last meeting.

It's not that much of a stretch.

Oakland seems to be moving the ball pretty good. I think we should be able to run the ball against them, if we can do that and slow down the pass rush I think we will be ok

Well as of right now, the Chargers can't stop the run. Which is great news for us.
If the Raiders continue to rack up the running yards, then I'm confident we'll run all over them. I'm getting tired of hearing how great the Chargers are and how they are a lock for the super bowl.
