Yac

It felt like our wideouts weren't getting many yards after the catch (YAC) today. Heap did, as well as the RBs (of course), but not much from the wideouts. That's OK, I'm not complaining about a 38 point explosion...just thinking about some finetuning Cam's gonna want to address. Also don't mean for this to go down another "we need a big name wideout" road, just wanted to express this thought to my football brethren, see if anybody saw something different.

I'll also mention Chris Carr on this topic - he's got to do better.

Does YAC matter when we consistently pick up 1st downs?
Does YAC matter when your winning?
Will people stop talking about how "bad" we were and talk about the positives?

Dude chill out. Go back and reread the post, not just the first sentence. Its just an observation and I wondered if anybody thought about it. This is a Ravens football forum, right? I can actually talk about the game right? I'd like to see the receivers make some plays with their feet. I know they can. I know they will. I was just trying to think about it from Cam's perspective and what he may want to address this week. Whatever man.

It would be nice, but with how the passing game went, it's all good. Flacco usually puts the ball where it's going to be a first down, or within a few yards. Therefore giving us consistent first downs. With the strength of Flacco's arm, there's no doubt going to be some big plays made "with their feet". Whether it be to Mason or Clayton. Just give it some time.

Most of the catches if I remember were outside and some crosses in the middle where there wasn't that much room to run. Whenever there was a pass to our backs, of course there will be some YAC but there could have been some times where we ran up for some extra yards and believe me, our WR's know when to make the extra push. Mason has done it plenty of times in the past and I don't think it'll change this year.

Like coach said, we did alot of good things on the offense side, defense side of the ball, we just got to get better.

Yep, it'll come. That was a helluva throw and catch by Flacco to Clayton. And the first TD by Willis, which Flacco kept alive by scrambling...dare I say he looked like a certain other AFC North QB on that one ;) .

yeah there really wasnt too much of a chance to get the YAC yesterday as for the most parts when our wrs caught the ball there was already a man on them before they could start looking downfield for running lanes. if we could get clayton or mason the ball in space i have no doubt they could get the YAC as mason used to be a PR/KR specialist and Clayton is really good running with the ball. it will happen there just wasnt much of an opportunity for them to do it yesterday.
