The Bengals signed Ed Hartwell

I guess he's really that anxious to prove that it would've been The Ed Hartwell Show instead of The Ray Lewis Show if he had came to Baltimore before Ray, huh?...pshh... :P

The Bengals must be desperate if they are going after Ed.....They did nothing to help their defense via the draft....of course now that Ed will be in the same division as the Ravens, that just might motivate him slightly....he sure was a bust with the Falcons....injury this past season not withstanding.

I thought the Bengals were trying to improve the overall character of their team. Hartwell seems to be a primadonna malcontent who will more than likely add dissension to the Bengals locker room. At least he was with us. With his injury bust in Atlanta that makes him a two time loser.

That's good news for us I guess. But it makes you wonder what goes on in Mike Brown's head.

Whatever. I don't miss him that much because we still have Ray and Bart Scott. This just means that we can kick his *** twice a year now.

I was pretty disappointed with the way Ed handled himself after he left the Ravens - while he was with us he was a very class act, he always did the radio show at the Greene Turtle & I remember being there his last time at the end of his last season, and there were a lot of fans just begging him to stay.

This could be a pretty good pick up for the Bengals if Eddy can stay healthy. Ed Hart is a guy that can run to the ball and is a pretty sure tackler, but with his injury problem i don't know how much he can help them. If they are bringing him in for his vet presence then they are making a huge mistake. I beleive with the way their LB core is put together and the off field problem, Eddy will be more like a ring leader then a strong veteran presence.

I think the injuries ran a toll on him. He was never a speedy got to begin with so I expect McGahee to fly right by him.

Hundred bucks says that, in his first game in Baltimore as a Bengal, he'll mock Ray Lewis' dance when he makes a big play...

...only to get plowed over or beaten on the very next play. :P

Adalius Thomas > Ed Hartwell

looks like we didn't need him, and we still don't even without Adalius! :P

Mistakenly he went for Big Bucks with ATL after SF passed on him. The so-called primadonna was humble enough to have actually wanted to follow Nolan and Singletary.

Talking about the comments about the tackle issue with him and Ray? I find it funny that most fans take that as an insult or an act of disrespect to Ray but both Ed and Ray never treated it as such nor was it meant as such.

Them stupid Bungle fans are prolly going nuts on their MB about it... LOL washed up Hartwell hope hes worth their money.

His contract with them is a 1 year and isn't really a lot of money. It is a good signing from both ends. Lewis has a guy he likes playing MLB and injury aside can play the position. Ed has a chance to redeem himself after the last two years.

I'll always wish Ed the best and have the fortune of knowing he's not what many people act like he is.

I was big on Hartwell when he was a Raven and wish him luck!

Before the Hartwell signing the Bengals didnt have a single LB on the roster with more than 3 years NFL experience.

Hartwell would bring a much needed veteran presence to an extremely young Cincinnati linebacking corp. what better way to do it on a bad defense, on a one-year contract and minimal pay? this'll help speed up Ahmad Brooks' transition, and learning curve. But I doubt he makes a Huge impact on helping improve that D even if healthy.

Hartwell is a B.U.M.. After leaving the Ravens he vanished into the ATL. You heard nothing from him. He did not take on any kind of leadership role, he just fell flat on his face. Maybe his game play in B-More had more to do with teams running away from 52. He said Ray did not show him anything, maybe he should have been paying attention.

Sam Adams just got cut by the bengals yesterday...this will be Mr. Ed's fait next offseason.

Not much of s risk here by the bengals. 1 year contract that is incentive laden.

Most likely. I don't see him sticking around. He's going to fade in the NFL, like Chris Redman.
