I think you can almost narrow it down to the Pats too, Chargers have a plethora of good young DBs, Bills have Mcghee and Mckelvin, and the Raiders seem to really like Johnson and Asomugha is legit. So that pretty much leaves the Pats.

The worst part about it too if he did goto the Pats, is you know he'd stay healthy all year long and be extremely motivated. And woudlnt you know turn into the C-Mac of '06 or something, just our luck lol.

You know I would normally say that C-Mac wouldn't "fit in" on the Patriots because all of the players on a Bill Belichick team are required to "fall in line".

But this is the same team that brought in Randy Moss and since then, Randy has had zero issues "off the field".

Its possible I guess. But the guy hasn't played a down since the Colts game last season.

Its too bad that McAlister and Harbuagh didnt see eye to eye last year, I always loved watching McAlister play (when he was healthy). Bring him back only if hes accepted that Harbaugh runs the joint now and that its time to do work.
Harbaugh im not yet sold on yeah he has a fantastic start of a resume with the team but what aspect of the game does he coach. I mean just playing the devil's advocate here, wasn't he suppose to be a special teams coach and db's coach at one time why are those the weakest areas on the team.

The Ravens don't necessarily need McAlister, but if you watched the Chiefs game then you have to admit our corners are not the "Gods" that a lot of you thought they were!

It's going to suck when the Patriots sign McAlister this week and he prepares them mightily with inside information for the Ravens Week 4 matchup with the Patriots. Yes, I realize he's no longer inside the locker room, but he knows PLENTY of our defensive players strategies, signals, tendencies, etc.
Disagree. 1) We've changed coordinators, so strategies and tendencies have changed. 2) No team keeps the same signals each year. 3) Thomas went to the Pats the offseason before we played them 07. The defense still gave Brady fits that game with the help Thomas admitted to giving him.

A guy from our practice squad would be more useful for that than McAlister.

Well, according to this board wr is our weakest position.
I think Harbaugh has improved this team 10 fold. We've got a better overall offense now, then we've ever had. Our running game- the best part of our offense for so many years, has even improved since he's taken over.

DB was a problem before Harbaugh got here. I dont know if you guys remember 2007 but after our starters went down we got torched by almost every passing attack we played. Fabian and Foxworth are not elite corners but they can hold their own if our DL gets the pressure, and by taking that downgrade at corner we've got better depth. As they proved last year when Rolle and McAlister got hurt. Our corners did not have that bad of a game vs the Chiefs. They gave up two big plays, during the part of the game that wasnt garbage time. That 50 yard play, where the Ravens got caught blitzing and the Bowe TD, after Flacco's pick. The other TD was given up by a LB.

ST is a double edged sword. We havent improved our kick returning or coverage- its the same as it was pre-Harbaugh, we've gotten worse at kicker but it's been Harbaugh's regime that's transformed Koch into the weapon that he is for us.

S is actually a prime position for McAlister now, just like Woodson and Lott who were once corners and made the transition. McAlister has excellent instincts, good ball skills, and is a phenomenal tackler imo he'd be a great safety. Now he gets to rely on his instincts even more so and not worry about following around a guy 1 on 1.

Oakland - say it aint so! Poor poor C-Mac. Now I actually feel bad for him, more so than not playing at all. Hopefully he got a good pay cheque.

From fanball.com:

The News
The Raiders are denying the rumor circulating that claims they are going to sign free agent cornerback Chris McAlister, according to the Contra Costa Times. Team spokesman John Herrera claimed that the news is "totally untrue and nonsense."

Our View
McAlister has reportedly been publicly stating that the Raiders are going to sign him, before he actually had a deal in place. Head coach Tom Cable also indicated that he heard nothing of a deal that would bring the former elite cornerback to Oakland.
