Uniform Selection

Is there a place on this site that lists what color jerseys will be worn each game? If not, it should be added. I've noticed most other teams have this. I know purple at home and white when away is the norm, but there has been times when this isn't always true. It'd be nice to show up on game day with the right color on.( I have all three colors of HEEP )

General rule of thumb is, for warm-weather games in September and part of October, the Ravens choose to wear white at home, but are often forced to wear purple on the road by the opposing team if their stadium is also warm-weather. Reason being, white reflects heat while solid colors (including purple) absorb heat, so whenever the Ravens play at home in Sept/Oct, they prefer to stay as cool as possible while hoping that the heat will work to their advantage on their opponents.

ok-thanks. I was hoping there was a more definitive answer. Sounds like the Ravens don't plan this too far out. Like I said, other teams have this posted for the entire season in advance, it'd be nice if we could get a little notice, maybe on the gameday tab? The stadium or even just the local watering hole would look even more awsome with everyone (players and fans) in the same color!!!!

theFranchise's explanation makes total sense and I wish the info would appear on the Gameday tab, too, as it does for other teams. In my quest for the definitive answer before finding this thread, I found this link to Uni Watch (http://www.uniwatchblog.com/white-at-home-in-the-nfl/) that catalogs home teams wearing white in past seasons. Don't know how accurate it is, but Uni Watch usually is, and as far as the Ravens are concerned:
2002 vs. Bucs (week 2)
2003 vs. Browns (week 2)
2004 vs. Steelers (week 2)
2006 vs. Raiders (week 2)
2008 vs. Bengals (week 1) and Titans (week 5)

According to this, the Ravens didn't wear white at home in 2005 or 2007, but that was under Billick.

I read somewhere else that the Eagles generally employ the same strategy that theFranchise explained and since Harbaugh would employ what he felt are best practices from his time with them, it would make sense.

Having said that, apparently 2008 week 3 vs. Browns was not in white? It was a 4 pm start - perhaps it was a cooler day/time? Wasn't there or in town, so don't remember.

If I remember correctly, you're right, temperatures were cooler that day.

Of course, I just checked the Gameday page and the jersey color is listed as white. I'm hoping that line of info was just recently added.

After snooping around some more, I found that on the gameday page to the left where it gives the tv and radio coverages,it also lists the jersey colors for that week. However, you cannot look into any future games, only the current weeks game.
