Hey everyone,

Updates have been coming along real slow; have been tied up in other things that I have going on.

I do plan on releasing a whole slew of upgrades in the near future, but first there are still a few minor issues that need to be fixed up (mainly cosmetic), and I plan on resuming work on the themes next week.

Just an FYI-

Once the upgrade pack (not to be confused with the update packs that I have been releasing) becomes available, I will post here and let you know it is ready for download. I highly recommend that you do not download the upgrade pack if you are running an older computer with less than 2GB of RAM. Some of the new features contained in the upgrades consume extra system resources, sometimes heavily depending on usage, and could bog down some older/less powerful systems.

*For the tech heads who are curious*
Firefox with the Ravens Black Theme currently consumes 194 MB of memory on my system (yours may vary; it will fluctuate on different computers). After upgrades, I'm expecting that number to go up to around 250 MB, give or take.

Welp...no downloading the theme for me, then! lol.

Firefox 3 currently uses something like 150 MB of memory on my computer, and even though running Windows 7 has been silky smooth with Firefox, a huge jump up to 250 MB with all the multi-tasking I do would be killer.

Just so you know, by default, when Firefox web browser is minimized, it reduces it's memory consumption until it is restored again.

Thats awesome. Thanks a lot man.

My pleasure.

I'll need everyone to participate in a poll that I'll put up later on, regarding which features to include in the Final Release. If I'm not spending time on stuff that nobody wants, the quicker it will get finished, so be sure to fill it out!

Hey everyone, just want to give a quick update for those who are interested (or are STILL waiting for the elusive upgrade pack I've been promising, lol).

First, a quick recap for the noobs who have joined the message board recently. I've released a theme for the Firefox web browser. Two themes actually; they are Ravens themes, one is purple the other is black. If you dont know what a theme is, it is basically just a makeover for your web browser, gives it a whole new look.
And no, it will NOT work with 'x-browser', it is for Firefox only (although there is one possible exception--it may also work with SeaMonkey, not sure, haven't tested it on it yet. Feel free to try it out and let me know.)

Between a car accident and ensuing therapy, then other random events, I haven't been able to continue working on and updating the Ravens Firefox theme as of late. However, things are getting back to normal, and will very soon be getting back to working on the themes.

As of right now, my web servers will be down for another 2 weeks or so, so there is no way for you to download it from me directly until they are back up.

However, I will be finally submitting the themes to Mozilla soon, and recommend downloading from them anyway, so that theme updates and upgrades will be automated for you.
When you download it from Mozilla, it will ask if you would like to make a .99 donation. The donation is completely OPTIONAL; the theme is absolutely free of charge and you will be able to download it whether or not you choose to make a donation.

If you'd like, I can email the theme(s) to you if you PM me. Please note that there are still a couple minor bugs in it's present state (for example, the Find bar does not work properly yet), and a couple aesthetic issues need cleaned up, but other than that it will give you a good idea of what to expect.
Just let me know if you'd like the purple theme or black theme (or both).
Comes with complete installation instructions (dont worry, its a breeze. It installs itself, then you copy a couple files into a directory on your computer).

Please report any bugs here in this thread.

Planned upgrades include an iGoogle page, an RSS feed developed and maintained daily by myself via a Ravens website of my own that will be going live later this year, some real fancypants Flash based graphics and animations integrated into the browser (no worries, will be tasteful, not annoying) and a few other things as well. The upgrades will come bundled in one .jar file, so it will be optional, as well as uninstallable if you choose to remove it after installation.

Enjoy!

Well it seems that there are now several other Ravens themes available from other people.

Click here to check them out. Hover your mouse over any theme and you get an instant preview of how it looks.

Please note that none of them were made by me, so I cannot answer any questions or provide support for those themes. I just wanted to let you know that there are now other options available if you'd prefer something different.

Also keep in mind that I have some really nice upgrades in store for my themes...

Also, my theme does not yet work on Firefox versions 3.6+.
Should be compatible within the next few weeks.

nice job. now just need one for opera
I was thinking about doing that, because it would look a lot better in Opera, but unfortunately very few people use Opera, so I doubt it will happen.
