Putting Rice in is a mistake. A big mistake. We need a back with enough power to move the pile. The Chiefs have a massive front and will be blitzing their linebackers. Actually Rice or Magheyhee will have a tough day.

from reading what you wrote, it seems you havent watched much of rice or "magheyhee." they're both hard-nosed runners that have the ability to grind out tough yards and move the chains

I'm still laughing at the guy who compared Rice to Reggie Bush. Unlike Bush who was running behind future-NFL lineman, split carries with LenDale White and could afford to bounce outside, Rice carried the rock all by himself in college. He ran inside and outside and run tougher than Bush has ever done in his life. I don't dislike Bush but this a RB who publicly announced he would stop juking this off-season. Bush was supposed to be the 2nd coming of Marshall Faulk but has only looked like a bigger Eric Metcalf. Ray Rice was deemed to small and slow to play in the league and although he hasn't scored a TD in the league yet, he looks like he could have a long, productive career if he stays healthy.

Also, despite being in a high-powered offense and being a "play-maker",Bush's longest run in three seasons has been 43 yards. Rice, who is several steps slower, already has a 60-yard run.

Because last time he opened his mouth about not getting playing time, Harbaugh thought he wasnt putting the team first and that he was being selfish.

Harbaugh is doing this just because he drafted Ray Rice and wants to make his own team up.

Guarantee McGahee will be used like a piere thomas by week 6 when they realize Ray Rice runs between the tackles like Reggie Bush.

So you're saying that Harbaugh is willing to sacrifice production and victories because he "wants to make his own team up"? C'mon now get real.

I know it's a new season...

But, last year, the Chiefs' "massive front" and "blitzing linebackers" had the 30th best - or, third worst - rushing defense in the NFL. Worse than the Browns, Rams and Colts...

And the Ravens had the 4th best rushing offense.

This is a mistake. IMO Rice is a good running back but he is not nearly as good of a 1st down and 2nd down back as Mcgahee. Yes rice is a stronger rice but, he is not really the type of back that really moves the pile because of his frequent juke move. I believe that he should be in at RB on 3rd down situations and other "passing" situations.

Mcgahee knows that they will be wanting his services on first and second downs; be it during that first game or a few games down the road.

Totally true!!! Accurate analysis!

I think his point was that Rice's elusiveness doesn't move piles, Willis' Power does. I think Rice deserves be the starter. However, Coach Harbs and company should know how to feed thousands with a few slices of bread. Meaning, Balance. If they use the right back on the appropriate down, there shouldnt be any problems.

So why is that Ray Lewis guy still starting? O.o

I'm just glad that we have more than one good running back to choose from. :)

I'm really excited to see how Rice does. Hopefully he'll get his first TD on Sunday. I think that others are right, although Rice may be our number one on the depth chart, everyone is going to get their carries.

if we have to rely on somebody moving the pile against the chiefs then we've got problems week 1. It doesnt matter one bit if you dont move the pile an inch if your getting 5 YPC. If there was a time to worry it would be playing teams like the Titans, Steelers, Vikings or Bears, physical defenses that would be tough for Rice, if Rice cant run on the Chiefs(and im not talking 120+ yards run) either the Line crapped the bed or Rice needs to give his head a shake.

I agree with rice being the starter there is alot of upside to this guy hes young fast and hungry to prove himself more. McGahee is still great but with those two shareing carries and the X factor McClain it really doesent matter who starts in my opinion
