Nothing to look too much into, given that he will get a full week to help heal his left knee. But, he will not be 100% if he plays the game vs us. Im not too sure how it will affect the outcome of the game, but as for me either way i expect a win B)

what do you guys think about this?

If he plays against us and his status is questionable then the week after the game his status will be IR.

Cassell is a fluke

I agree with the fluke idea. Anyone could have ran that offense in NE, not saying he's not any good, he just had a great team to work with. I highly doubt he will have a good season without a good supporting cast. I could care less if he plays against us, I'm sure we'll win either way.

Why do people guarantee victories? Are you god that you can predict this game?

No guarantees or gods here, but Las Vegas is in the business to make money, and they have the Ravens as 10 point favorites...

I feel very confident about this game, considerably more confident then with the injury report of one of Belichick's Alcolites.

Tom Brady spent the entire 19-1 year on the injury report.

Cassel also had a much better team around him and the easiest schedule in the NFL in which to use it.

Absolutely. NE had the easiest schedule in the league last year. They were 11-5, and the Chiefs were 2-14...

Cassell is in for a looooooooooong seson.

Both the AFC and NFC West if I recall. I'm dreaming for the Ravens to have that schedule. 6 easy wins.

Yes, and they also had 2 games vs. Miami, the Jets and Buffalo.

Their opponents had a 99-157 record, a .387 winning %. Easiest, by far, in the NFL. And they still didn't make the playoffs... :P

Compare that schedule to the Ravens' 141-115, a .551 winning % (4th hardest), or Pitt's 153-103 / .598 (the hardest) - and both AFC North teams made the playoffs.

Matt Cassel has already proven that he is no Tom Brady imho.

To be fair, the Patriots had the exact same record that we did; they just won the "wrong" (so to speak) game.
Of course, as you pointed out, their schedule was easier. In theory, a 16-0 team with an easy schedule should have done better, but I'm not going to complain.

Not bad...we're tied with NO for the highest favorite. But they're playing Detroit so...

I'm all for being confident....but some of you guys are writing this game off before we play it and I HATE that...

Wasn't it just a couple of years ago we let the 0-15/16 Miami Dolphins beat us..

Didn't we see the winless Lions last year almost beat the Colts and Redskins....two teams that fighting for the playoffs..

Who was one of the first teams to beat the Giants last year...wasn't it the Browns

this is the NFL any team can win

give all teams proper credit and respect up until the clock says 0:00 on Sunday

Being a realist is better than being cocky.

On the Chiefs forums a guy actually said that Flacco was fluke last season, and he would take Tyler Thigpen over Flacco "every day of the week, and twice on Sunday" lol, that's funny stuff right there.

Gotta love the Homers! Thigpen is better at scrambling than Joe, and with KC's O line, it might be better to have Thigpen. Flacco would be lucky to last 3 games with that offensive line! :P

Joe has quick feet, but he's certainly not considered a "scrambling" QB, such as V Young, early McNabb, early McNair. Thigpen is much more of a scrambler than Joe.

I thought the Browns lost to the Giants 44-43? Wouldn't be the first time that I'm wrong though...

I get what you're saying, and all, but I'll respect KC when they earn it. They are just a 2 win team to me.

Sadly, we have a track record of losing to backup QBs. I wouldn't get too confident.
I'd like to think that this is the dawn of a new era. From now on, back-up qbs are going to look like Kevin Kolb. :P

I checked out their forums, nothing compared to what we have here! Anyway, here are some quotes from the same thread. That poster that you quoted was really the only one who isn't terrified of the Ravens.

"I think we may have to write this one off, hate to do that the 1st game of the season....but at least we'll get it out of the way early."

"As I watched the Ravens play the Jets last night I got cold chills thinking of our "O" line and that "D" swarming through it"

"I truely believe our QB's could get serioulsy injured in this game! I say put our 3rd string QB in there and work from the bottom up!"

"Baltimore's D is going to obliterate any hope the Chiefs have on offense that day."

That's true, they were generally worried about their QB situation. I posted that one because I thought it was funny. :)

I looked at the odds this morning. And they have the Ravens 13 point favorites against the Chiefs. This is the largest spread this week out of all the games. It's actually tied with the Saints 13 points over Detroit.

Well, looks like we won the Psychological battle with the fans, now if they could just some how pass that defeated feelinig onto the players... I am not really that worried about this game after watching our team in the Pre-season. But like others on here have said you dont want to look past any team which is true but i am allowed to do that as i am a fan.

EXACTLY. People sometimes tend to think that because one team's fans may be cocky about a game that the team is overlooking their opponents too. I highly doubt that Harbaugh will allow the team to overlook the Kansas City Chiefs. On the flip side, I'm sure the Chiefs are hungry to come into Baltimore and win the game.

I hope the Ravens win, I am confident, but even strong man walks warily through a lions den.
