Hauschka Named Starter

Great news, even if it was to be expected.

The only remaining storyline at that position will be whether the coaches will have faith in Hauschka to make a clutch kick, or if they'll call Stover back in the coming days. I doubt Stover will get that phone call and I think most everyone has the utmost confidence in Hauschka.

I hope we put Gano on the PS. I still like him more than Hauschka as a long term solution. He's just not ready this year.

All the love for Gano is cool and everything, but I just don't see where it's coming from. He has a strong leg but that's about it, I personally was just hoping that one of them would be good enough, so we don't have to carry two kickers but I think that is what we might have to do again this season, maybe give Haushka everything from outside of 45yds and let Stover cash em in from point blank

I have been in support of Gano but I don't have a problem with Huashcka.

For the pervious poster, the love for Gano comes from me feeling he is the better overall kicker. Yes he missed 2 FGs, but that doesn't mean he is a poor kicker.

It's hard to say what Gano will be in the NFL, because all we have seen is his 1 for 3 performance, but I hope we can find a way to bring him back next year to compete. I think he is a guy that could have a really long career.

Now that is all for Gano, it's Haushcka's time and I hope he can kick well this year.

He didn't perform when he needed to. Gano lost the position in practice not just the preseason games. Hauschka won it because he is a better kicker. Otherwise the Ravens would have made Gano the starter. Simple as that

Well, Stover wont be back before week 1. Otherwise we would have to garantee his cotract since he's a Vet. I think if we pick him up after week 3 we can cut him no questions asked if he doesn't have it... To be honest, Id rather see us drop one of the QB's and then roll with Stover and Hauschka.
