Any cut, disgruntled or retired WR becomes a let's go get him thread. I'm sure Cris Carter would still love to play some football.

On topic, What has Tyree done besides the superbowl catch?

that sucks... w/o him there is no giants winning the Superbowl in 2007 (or 2008 w/e superbowl you want to call it)
He gets no respect. But who are we to talk. We didn't resign Dilfer.

So we sign him, put him on the practice squad or watever, and when he make the Superbowl, we'll play him, because seems the only time he's good.

http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Wilson-Giants-cut-David-Tyree-per-his-agent.html

"It was a tough thing," said Tyree's agent, Michael Clouser, after being informed of the transaction by Giants assistant general manager Kevin Abrams. "Unfortunately, things didn't work out for him. David is healthy and ready to play for someone immediately. It's the nature of the business.

"Nothing is guaranteed to you. I think he can contribute somewhere right away. It's not like he wasn't prepared for this. He's a proven special-teams player and he can help someone's football team as a receiver, too. He's got a history of overcoming the odds."

Clouser mentioned the Baltimore Ravens, among other teams, as a potential destination, but said he hadn't spoken with team officials yet.

"We're hopeful that Baltimore will be interested," Clouser said. "The Ravens are one of the teams that we've identified that would hopefully want to pick him up off waivers."

Ya nailed it. David Tyree is a ST's ace and one heck of a model American....just not a great WR.

Loved your Dilfer post.

I know nothing about this guy other than his Superbowl catch. What was he in NY? a 1, 2, or 3 reciever?
He was injured last year and didn't play. I'm pretty sure they put him on IR, don't remember what the injury was though. Actually, I believe he was there 4th or 5th receiver that year. Don't think he had too many catches in the regular season.
I'm certainly glad he made that catch and helped to take down Bill Belicheat and the New England Cheatriots! :D

He you can post all the cuts around the league. It's an exciting day for the fans, not so much for the players. Fire away. :D

Honestly, the Giants were pretty generous for keeping him as long as they have.Other then that one catch in the Superbowl, he's done next to nothing but be an extra body at wr.

54 receptions in 73 games. They could have parted with him years ago and been justified.

http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Source-Ravens-cut-Jason-Cook-keep-TE-Edgar-Jones.html

The Baltimore Ravens have cut rookie fullback Jason Cook, according to a league source.

The undrafted rookie from Ole Miss caught a touchdown pass in the Ravens' preseason finale against the Atlanta Falcons. He's a potential candidate for the practice squad.

Meanwhile, veteran tight end Edgar Jones, a versatile player who's also capable of playing outside linebacker, has made the team.

Ozzie's phone is going to be ringing off the hook. Every wideout that gets cut is going to believe we might be interested in their services.

The Skins put QB Colt Brennan on IR, and they released QB Chase Daniel.

Even though Beck looks OK, I think someone may grab Daniel - he didn't look horrible in the preseason.

Curry is a decent option as a 5th wide reciever, if we decide not to go with Harper. He's got starting experience and was decent in Oakland, which given Oaklands situation the past few years isnt all that bad. But I know he's a little older and I havent seen him play recently, so I dont know what he's got left.

Joey Harrington got released. He's been passed around like a cheap... umm, well, you know.

I think his NFL tour may finally be over.

I think Redman is the biggest surprise - he led Pitt in rushing during the preseason, and had 3 of their 5 rushing TDs... I'm sure they want to PS him.
