Sounds like a bandwagon fan to me. Alot of people moved over to the Ravens after they won the SB. I have been a Ravens fan since Modell brought the team to Baltimore. Prior to that, I was a diehard Baltimore Colts fan and I did not align myself with any team in the NFL until the Ravens came to Bmore.

My dad moved over before the 2000 season, so he just missed the "bandwagon", but I wouldnt consider him a bandwagon fan only because he had a legit reason, hes always hated the Browns and when they moved, the were still technically the Browns. He also started to watch the games with the rest of my family, who were Ravens fans from the start, so he picked up on them. My dad was a hardcore Baltimore Colts fan, if that matters any.

The fans in these counties (Montgomery,Prince Georges&Southern MD),continue to explain their lack of support fo the Ravens. It's not just because they live closer to DC. The fact that the Cleveland Browns moved here made us less than a Authentic team. Come on now! There are teams such as The Titans,Colts etc who started out in other cities and moved to another town. Especially the Colts! The Colts left Bmore and didnt change the name,Logo or uniform. I think if you wanna bash a team for this, the Colts should be #1 on the list. But, this happens in Basketball and Baseball. People dont buy tickets,Teams move!! Owners sell Teams,Period!! No organization is immune to it! Their Displeasure for our team is Hideous and Redundant! I think their hatred really stems from the Ravens being the Big Brother. The Skins are the little bro who wishes he could beat the Big Bro but cant! lol

I have heard this nonsense ever since the Ravens began. We have coaches, cheerleaders, a stadium (a very nice stadium at that), and the NFL logo on our uniforms. I don't understand what's "NOT REAL" about that. In fact, we are very real and soon to be feared by the league!

Maybe they are thinking about a certain city that stole a team in the middle of the night along with its colors, accomplishments and rich history. The Colts are a mirage. A sheep in lions clothing. They are frauds. How can it say

"Colts: NFL Championships (3)
1958, 1959, 1968
Super Bowl Championships (2)
1970 (V), 2006 (XLI)"

Weird considering Indi didn't have a team til 1984. Plus, as far as I know their city has nothing to do with horses. I am unaware of the horse races there every year and the fact that jousting is their state sport, oh wait, that's because that's Baltimore, Maryland. They should have changed their name and colors when they relocated/stole our old team.

I'm glad we showed enough respect to Cleveland to change the name and get new colors, so we could have our own identity! It was also good that Art Model was a big advocate to help Cleveland reclaim a football team and keep their prized name (even though they are our rivals). He loved their fans and felt bad they got the raw end of a business transaction. That's class! We wanted a team, not their team.

As for the Indianapolis Colts and haters of the Ravens, they'll get theirs soon enough. We must be doing a couple things right if people feel we are worth hating.

I've been a fan of the Ravens since 1996. But, I grew up in Southern Maryland as a Redskins fan. Over the last seven years since moving to Baltimore I've become more of a Ravens fan than a Redskins fan. But, I still root for both teams. Well, I don't really root for the Skins, but I don't root against them. If this makes me less of a Ravens fan, oh well.

I can't stand the Redskins organization, Dan Snyder, etc. And I feel sorry for Redskins fans because I know that the team has no hope as long as Danny Boy is in charge of the team. Much like the Orioles with Angelos.

But, it was my experience growing up in Redskins country that most Redskins fans either a.)liked the Ravens as thier "AFC" team, or b.) simply didn't think about the ravens; no hate, no love. Sure, there are fans that don't like the Ravens, but I would say that I didn't meet that many of them in all my years.

I think the number of Ravens fans that have venom for the Redskins and DC in general, far outweigh the number of Redskins fans that have venom for the Ravens.

Real teams make the Playoffs. If that's the case then the Redskins must be a flag football little league team. Do we really need to discuss this with Redskins fans?

Well I guess the colts, rams, titans are not a real team. Hell for that matter neither are the Redskin's they did not start out in D.C. and right now they do not even play in D.C., they play in Landover MD. You make an excellent point!!
For that matter you can also throw in the Saints joined in 1967), Bengals (joined in 1968), Seahawks joined (1976), Bucaneers (joined in 1976), Cardinals (relocated to Arizona in 1988), Jaguars (joined in 1995), Panthers (joined in 1995), Rams (relocated to St. Louis in 1995), Titans (relocated to Tennessee in 1997 as the Oilers), and the Texans (joined in 2002).

When the league started in 1933 there were actually only 10 teams:

New York Giants
Chicago Bears
Green Bay Packers
Pittsburgh Steelers
Philadelphia Eagles
Boston Redskins
Brooklyn Dodgers
Cincinnati Reds
Chicago Cardinals
Portsmouth (Ohio) Spartans

Only 5 were not relocated. Washington stole their team from Boston lol!

My point is that most teams ARE expansion teams from one point in time or another. HOWEVER, the Ravens are STILL the ONLY team that is STILL referred to as an "EXPANSION" team and not merely by fans, but sports anchors and journalists alike. Chris Berman (whoop!) still refers to us as the Baltimore Browns! It's unfair and rather irritating they only choose to single us out while the Colts, Jags, Panthers, and Colts (I said them twice because they suck!) were excepted with wide open arms.

Well it is simplly Mind Over Matter, I do not Mind because the hater's do not Matter! I glad we did not get that team in Jacksonville that would be selling out every game if it was given to Baltimore which proves the NFL wrong about Baltimore.

Since I live in Northern Virginia, at ground zero of Redskin land, I know what you mean. They won't even mention the Ravens on the news here. So, its all sour grapes. If we go by that logic, the Eagles and the Steelers where once one team during WWII because they lacked People to make separate teams. So I guess they are not a real team either.....Redskin hogwash!!

I'm a Montgomery County Hardcore Ravens fan. Ofcourse I use to be in Baltimore County. But more and more when I walk around Montgomery County I see an increased amount of Ravens fans. You can't fault Prince Georges county because Fedex Field is in their turf. And Southern, MD is pretty much an extension of PG & DC.

But Redskins do have a long history in the area. But the more years the Ravens play in Baltimore, then more increase support we will get from these counties. Give it time.

I just wish suburban Marylanders would all see that the Redskins are really Northern Virginia's team (despite the Fedex field being in MD). Especially the transplants and immigrants.

I'm also a Montgomery County Ravens fan, living with those Skins fans can sure get annoying. Still, it helps knowing they'll never win squat with Snyder as their owner. I live in Rockville, which is 80-90% skins fans, but I go to high school in Silver Spring, which has a pretty large minority of Ravens fans. I agree with pretty much all of what you have to say, I'm seeing quite a few Ravens fans in these parts lately. Still, when it comes down to it, lots of Skins fans are blissfully unaware of the team that plays 40-odd miles to the north which just beat the stuffing out of theirs. In Montgomery County, the Ravens get next to no coverage, which isn't surprising, as the local sports coverage in of the opinion that the Skins can do no wrong. Also, the other day I heard a talk show host say that all of the Ravens fans here were simply Skins fans who had jumped off the bandwagon. That certainly isn't true of the MoCo Ravens fans I know, and it's not true of me. My dad, who's a Bills fan, hates the Redskins with a passion, and I chose the Ravens over the Skins because those beliefs rubbed off on me (I think my dad didn't insist on me being a Bills fan because he wanted to spare me the suffering). Since then I've come to love seeing Ray Ray blow people up, Joe Cool show off his rocket of an arm, etc. Anyway, there are enough Ravens fans where I live that I don't feel alone, and even if Montgomery County is Redskins territory, it's going to keep gaining undertones of purple if the Ravens continue to outclass the Redskins in nearly every way imaginable.

This topic applies to me esepcially. I live in montgomery county. My friend got me into football when i was in middle school, and he was a ravens fan. I started to watch football a lot more and the first SB i watched was the Rams and Titans. A few more seasons about 2 seasons after the ravens won their SB i became a hardcore ravens fan. I watched enough football by then to form my opinion that the ravens were one of the best organizations and one of the most underrated.

But to this day, i still don't understand all the hype around the redskins where i live. They are one of the worst organizations in football. They trade all their draft picks away, many of the picks they actually make suck and are overrated(lavar arrington, carlos rogers, etc), the owner runs the franchise like a fantasy team trading and signing high priced old FAs, and meanwhile the team has absolutely no chemistry because of the way it is run. They have been rebuilding for like 10 years now. They always fire their head coach before he can even get his feet wet, and most of these coaches find success when they leave (norv turner, even spurrier, shottenheimer.)

And when i say all this to all the people i live around, their response is we have 3 superbowls. Why are they still clinging to that? It was so long ago. Meanwhile the Ravens have been good for so long now. The skins are a joke imo, i feel sorry for their only good player clinton portis, he probably would've been the best RB every year for several years if he remained in denver.
