Redskins Fans Waited While Brokers Got Tickets

10 posts in this topic

The Washington Post has an article today on how several members of the Washington Redskins organization were actively selling tickets to ticket re-sellers, who then tend to re-sell them to fans at higher prices. I wouldn't be surprised if other teams and/or ticketmaster do this.

I think it's one thing if it's a season ticket holder who is unloading tickets for games they can't get to, that's their business. However, it does piss me off to hear that a team could be selling their tickets to ticket brokers instead of directly to fans.

they are going to try and make as much profit as possible it is a business at the end of the day. I think that some places are not as loyal to their fans as they should be but if you were in the situation can you say that you might not do the same.

Art Modell had the Ravens sell some PSLs at a bulk rate discount to brokers several years ago, that is why you pockets of visiting teams fans in some areas of the upper deck. Meanwhile a few thousand fans are on "The List" waiting for PSLs for several years. This is exactly the same thing that is happening in Washington with the Redskins.

Yeah, I can. I can say I'd show common decency and loyalty in the face of greed.

This is pretty pathetic and I feel sorry for Redskins fans, both those who couldn't get tickets and those who had their football experience ruined by corporate greed allowing fans from other teams to have a large presence. It's one thing if fans just aren't buying tickets for their team, but I think them not even having the opportunity is just plain wrong.

It gets worse. Today's article is about fans who did get season tickets and were locked into multi-year contracts. They fell on hard times, and the Redskins organization, instead of being a @#$%@ human, sued them and won huge judgments that the fans really can't pay now.

Yeah I can, because ultimately it's the fans who are the reason I'd be able to bring home the bacon, and I'd rather get their money directly than have some other business profiting off of demand for my "product"

Oh I wonder if it was the Ravens or TM that did that, I lean towards TM after their debacle with Bruce Springsteen tickets earlier this year.
