NFLShop.com's best selling jersey list from April 1-August 28. Joe Flacco is #17. Right above Matt Ryan :)

We love our qb here in Baltimore.

This is good to see. Flacco is a superstar in the making. He definitely looks more comfortable with the media this year and as his play improves he will get noticed a lot more.

don't be fooled by the FAvre and Vick sales, many people are buying their jerseys for a ritual burning :D
Still not sure how a guy who signed with the Eagles just the other week is on the list.... How the hell could you sell that many jerseys of a guy who doesn't even have a team?

Okay, seriously... Vick? And how are Big Jen, Sanchez, and Romo outselling Brady?

Well now that I think about it, there are probably alot of people who just got traded in their Brady jersey for a Roethlisberger one.

It's interesting that Flacco is the only Raven on that list.

Big Jen - Easy, More banwagoneers w/ most recent superbowl win.
Sanchez - He's in new york (a huge population), they are dying for a media savvy player. Eli manning looks likes he wants a lollipop.
Romo - Another Banwagon team.
Vick - He still has a huge fan base. This isn't just a philly thing.

I wouldnt call Cowboys bandwagon, more like a dumpster fire. They will be bottom of the division this year!

and yeah a lot of people are buying Vick costumes for either supporting him as a player or just because of great Halloween ideas

Haha Crabtree is on there and he isnt even signed yet

It's going to be a collectible if he drops the season and re-enters the draft next year. 'The jersey that never was' - ugh.

That is my question. I am assuming this based on gross sales (the article made it sound that way). The other thing it could be based on is like a number of sales per unit time which would explain why Vick and Favre are so high on the list. Anyone help me out here?

They are certainly a bandwagon team. They are the exception to the usual rule of bandwagon teams being successful, but they are a bandwagon team nontheless.

I gotta say those steelers love their team.
That is absolutely true, but you have to remember that alot of people just jumped on the bandwagon and need to buy some jerseys to show their short lived pride.

There's also ALOT of bandwagon Steeler fans. From what I've heard from my Old Man and a bunch of the older fans is this, while growing up in the 70's so many people jumpped ship as Steeler fans from all over the Country.

Take into account that they have 2 more SB victorys, and the most of any teams I have seen them bandwangers even more. I mean seriously you will see people in the middle of nowhere with no knowledge of the Steelers at all but yet they have brand new jerseys and are fans for 10 years all of a sudden.

Also.. teams with multibale SB's are tops with Fans. Why is this? Bandwagon fans.
I'll go as far to say that over 40% of Steelers fans are just Bandwagon Fans. They want bragging rights. A true fan is someone who truly like and follows a team for more reason then them winning. Like if you live in or close to around Pittsburgh.. thats automatacly a real reason to be a Steelers fan.

But you will see alot of people close to Det MI and are Steelers fan, and guess why?

I've bought quite a few jerseys off ebay .... various quality. I just got a Suggs one that is SUPERIOR in quality. In fact, I'd say I lucked into a genuine on-field, its awesome. :)

I was thinking about buying a Flacco jersey. They have these new pink ones that I think look cool, but I'm just not completely sold on him yet. I don't want to waste my money. I might by one after the season starts.

I bought my Flacco jersey right after the 4th pre-season game! I'm now thinking of jumping on the Ray Rice Jersey also.

I'm surprised Ray Ray isn't on the list, oh well....
If you read the beginning of the article, the list is based on jersey sales within the last month (Aug 1 - 28), which is when all of these announcements came down about Favre and Vick.

Ray was probably on this list a number of times, especially after the 2000 Super Bowl win, but he's also pretty saturated in the market, considering how many fans I see who are wearing his jersey at games. Perhaps he would be high up on a list of sales within the last 10 years, rather than just the last month.

The article actually says April 1st - August 28th. Which makes Vick and Favre jerseys that much more of an enigma.

Argh! Reading comprehension failure on my part!

Now I'm more inclined to agree they're a bit of an enigma, because it's not like I saw any sort of offer to pre-sell jerseys, and they would just send whichever team those two landed on.

However, for Vick, were people still able to get custom jerseys with his name, even during that time he was in limbo before Goodell said he could come back?

Well I'm glad I got my Flacco jersey as a gift. Now I don't have to get one. Although I do recommend getting a custom jersey for you hardcore fans. That way you don't have to get new jerseys every time a player moves or retires. Also it's a great way to show some personal pride. :)
