Whats up with this guy? I haven't seen him on the field all season. He is very raw at TE but his upside is huge. Is he hurt or whats the story with him

Looks like he's stuck behind Edgar Jones and maybe Isaac Smolko. My guess is he's headed to the practice squad.

I read somewhere that he was one of a few healthy players that didn't play against Carolina. The article didn't say why. At least on of the other guys listed just got cut. I would think he'd be safe since we drafted him but we have some nice depth at that position. He may be a practice squad guy his first year.

I don't know what Drew is doing but he can be the #2 TE if he steps up. I have no faith in L.J. Smith and Edgar Jones doesn't really have a position.

You may not have faith in LJ staying healthy (neither do I) but he will be our #2 TE at least on the depth chart. And I really think Jones will be #3. Harbaugh must love his versatility. That versatility would free up a roster spot.

Judging from the fact Drew was a healthy non player in Saturaday's game makes me think the team is trying to limit the film on him so they can put him on the practice squad.

I agree about Jones but I honestly see L.J. finishing the year on IR. He's been around the ball twice this pre-season and has injured himself on both plays. Pathetic...

I agree. I still think it was a good idea to sign him. We have our #1 TE so if and when Smith can play we are better for it. He would be icing on the cake. I really hope he's healthy for the Steeler games. Heap and Smith will make the Steeler LB's look silly.

Definitely. Smith's tendency to get hurt is frustrating but he runs like a receiver and if he could be healthy for the Steelers games, that would be sweet. I can imagine Rice and Smith running circles around the Steeler LBs all game long.
