Hakeem Nicks V. Jets

11 posts in this topic

Hakeem Nicks went 6 receptions for 144 yds and 2 TDs last night against the Jets D. Until this game it seemed like Ramseys had the better chance to be the man.

I still think the Giants had an excellent draft, and both Barden and Nicks will be contributors right away in the season for them.

Eli threw a lot of perfect passes that were dropped in that game. They still need a #1 WR and I don't think he exists on that current roster.

ya the giants will struggle this year without a security blanket for Eli. If a team can stop Jacobs early and take the lead and force Manning to throw that game is going to get ugly real quick.

I thought the Jets were an exact replica of the Ravens defense. :P Missing two MAJOR players ESPN, Ray and Ed.

Actually, that's always been the case. Even WITH Burress. Teams just couldn't stop Jacobs and Bradshaw is a beast! I wish they'd used him more last year. My main concern is injuries on defense. Their not sure about CB (Aaron Ross or Corey Webster - forget which one of them is injured) and Jay Alford, and I heard that Rocky Bernard may not even make the roster. We'll see, but they really need that DL rotation, and Michael Boley needs to come back and contribute. Their defense should keep them in some games.

Eli isn't the timmid dude he comes off as. I heard te GM said to him, "When you were at Ole Miss you made the players around you better. We don't have your big name WR so I need you to make these guys better." Eli responded, "You can count on it." I honestly can't make up my mind about them yet. They DO have probably the OL in football.

Its to be expected by a group of rookie WRs. Nicks will be elite in a few years.

Exactly. WR is one of the tougher positions to make an impact at as a rookie, 1-2 year guy. That's why they need a real #1. Steve Smith's performance has been surprisingly lacking.

There going to have 2 elite WR's that are young in Manningham and Nicks. If Manningham was to get cut the first thing the Ravens needs to do is give that guy a call.

He'd be a good fit, but I doubt he gets cut. I like Ramses Barden too.

Nicks and Barden are going to surprise some people... and with that running game, they should both become acclimated sooner rather than later.
