Suggs Package?

8 posts in this topic

i picked up madden 10 and so far i can say that i love it the best madden i have played in a long time. my only complaint is that my friend who i play online plays as the steelers and can run the wildcat offense but the ravens have no variations not even the suggs package in which we actually ran last year. the only reason i complain about this is because pittsburg never ran a offense that even came close to the wildcat how can they and other teams that didnt but our offense is limited in the plays that we can run with?

it may be that my friend ran with another playbook but he said he was using the steelers when he ran that wildcat formation on me. any body else got any ideas?

I think the main reason why it wasn't put in the Ravens playbook was because it's not a huge part of our offense. In fact, there were only a handful of Wildcat plays that the Ravens ran last year, as opposed to other teams that relied on it more heavily. Your friend may very well have used a different playbook when playing as the Steelers, though there's also the possibility that Pittsburgh is installing more Wildcat plays because of the athleticism of their receivers. Also, Mike Tomlin had openly discussed the possibility of drafting Pat White this past draft just to experiment with the Wildcat, which opens the door for it being used even without White.

A lot of teams seem to use the wildcat. I see Cribbs running the wildcat in Cleveland. Can't say I remember them using that formation more than our suggs package.

That is the next step for this game is to really customize the team.

The Steelers playbook does have a wildcat formation, Franchise. I remember playing a friend of mine (he's a Pittsburgh fan, so every year we play online Baltimore vs. Pittsburgh) and I saw it pop up saying his formation was the wildcat, with Parker taking the snaps. I even told him I don't ever remember Pittsburgh running the wildcat last year *shrugs*

im not worried about running the wildcat offense i just didnt like the fact that the steelers could run formations that they had never used before and we actually had a formation but were not allowed too. thats for clearing up as to why the steelers can run the wildcat but to me i dont think a team that has never ran the formation should be allowed to in madden unless your using someone elses playbook. How does madden determine how effect the play would be for a team that has never ran it? i guess im just mad because i feel like the steelers stats on the game are already too impressive.

on a side note anyone face the Pats yet even on the game they have BS go their way.

The Pats are always tough for me to play for the first half, but then I break the game open the second half every time, whether it's against another player or the CPU. Just like in real life, the key is always to lock in on Randy Moss. If you can do that, then everything else is gravy. Their defense isn't so tough to throw against once you get in a rhythm, but I feel as if their run defense gets more penetration than it should.

Same here, 1st half they dominate, second half I run the table. Moss doesn't kill me though. Welker does.

I had the privilege of playing against their back-up the other night because Brady was out. Man he was horrible.

I think it's the same guy they cut today. Which leads me to ask their question, who the hell is backing-up Brady in real football?
