Yup, I browse one of their message boards and they are the most reasonable fan base I have come across.

I haven't heard a thing about him. Haven't heard if anyone has even contacted him.

The Raiders placed him on I.R. so he's done for the season.

Well, the official word was, the Raiders initially released him due to a hamstring injury, Neal took action and both sides reached a quick injury settlement. So Neal is no longer a Raider and still gets some money from Oakland for doing him wrong.

As of right now, I doubt any teams (including the Ravens) are interested so long as that hamstring injury is still up in the air. Jay Glazer indicated that Neal has contemplated life after football as a result of the injury.

I would like to have him back, , but he's on IR and was released with like an injury settlement.
I guess ... I'm back.

Note that a player cannot remain or be placed on injured reserve if he's released by a team; injured reserve creates a roster exemption for an injured player who is unlikely to recover during the season, thereby allowing a team to acquire another player to make up for the vacancy.

Since Neal's no longer with the Raiders, he's no longer on injured reserve since he has no contracted team for which the exemption is created. The injury settlement was a result of a conflict between Neal and the Raiders; Neal believed he could recover, the Raiders didn't and assumed his season was over, and his release meant that Neal wouldn't have gotten the money he was due.

It wouldn't make any sense to bring Neal back even if he wasn't injured.

The Ravens have been under the impression that McClain will be the fullback for the entire offseason, and his style couldn't be any more different than Neal's.

Whereas Neal focuses 100% of his time and energy blocking, McClain will be running the ball as well as blocking, so bringing back Neal would require a drastic change in our playbook, which makes no sense seeing as how the season opener is in a few weeks.

A lot of respect to a long-serving, consistently great FB. Can't see us bringing him in though.
