If by new to the game you mean Madden10, then yes...If you mean new to Madden then no. Ive been a casual player since Madden06 and have always been what i would call decent...Been playing online for a couple years and always managed a record just over .500

This though, is ridiculous. Seems like every time I play online the other guy knows exactly what im doing. If I run there are 8 guys coming at me, if I pass there are like 7 guys dropping into coverage. And even if a I audible it still never seems to work. Cant wait to play someone on here thats good, Im gonna get creamed bad...

ok, i may have finally figured this offense thing out. Just won two games in a row, both asked for mercy by the half cuz I was winning by 21+ pts.

Still having some issues on defense against certain plays. In particular I play this guy last night who used NE. Every single play was a shotgun formation, play action draw, then a deep pas to...who else, Randy moss. I highlighted him, I triple covered him, I tried cover2, cover3, cover4, etc. Every time he was at least 2 steps behind my deepest defender. Then the one time I got to Brady and the ball came out wobbly, Moss actually went THROUGH both of my safeties and grabbed the ball with the back of his head. Okay, I know hes a good receiver but I really didnt need the game to glitch right there, lol.

Alright, so if you guys haven't already seen it, we are now in Week 2 as of last night!

The only User-vs-User game this week is myself and a buddy of mine and we're scheduling our game for Wednesday night, so all of you guys, play your games whenever you can and we'll hopefully be in Week 4 as early as Thursday and as late as Monday 9/14.

Just a reminder that we'll advance to Week 3 as soon as RavenRage92 returns and completes his game. Coincidentally, we should be in the thick of Week 3 by the time the real-life Week 3 is on the horizon.

Alright, sent RavenRage92 a message reminding him to play his game, but bottom-line, he has until Wednesday night (9/23) at roughly 9pm EST to finish his game.

If he can't finish by then, I'll have no choice but to advance the league into Week 3 in the interest of keeping the league going. The idea is to have each league week at least finish alongside the real-life NFL weeks, if not faster.

From now on, barring any other understandable absences, we'll be doing Wednesday-to-Wednesday deadlines for everyone to finish their games. That gives everyone a week to coordinate user-vs-user match-ups while allowing ample time to finish user-vs-CPU games.

Again, we'd ideally like to finish BEFORE the end of the NFL season, but if we have to play concurrently with it, then so be it.

Even if a league week is finished before the traditional Wednesday deadline, we'll still uphold the original Wednesday deadline for that particular week just to keep things simple; so, for instance, Week 3 is supposed to be finished by Wednesday 9/30, but if everyone finishes before then, Week 4 will [i]still[/i] keep its deadline of Wednesday 10/7. If we keep moving along in the league much faster than that, then we'll adjust on-the-go. But for right now, we're trying to at least keep pace with the real-life NFL schedule.

Looking ahead to our schedule, Week 3 should go by fast since they're all User-vs-CPU match-ups. Week 4 gets VERY interesting with TWO user matchups; I get RavenRage92 (a/k/a mezmer9) while my best friend (my best friend, mopar04) takes on J-Man.

Meanwhile, I'm still waiting for my buddy (playing as the Chargers) to freaking hurry up already...I've hounded him every day for the past week about playing, and he keeps saying homework's getting in the way. Yet, I JUST SAW HIM playing Madden online today! His gamertag said so!...

Either way, like I said, Wednesday night deadline is still on, and everyone's done with Week 3 except him. if he doesn't finish by 9pm Wednesday, we're moving onto Week 4 with or without him.

Alright, I'll let him know, though realistically, Friday evenings are sounding like what he'd lean towards.

And yes, user-vs-user games are 10 minutes as well. But both of you score a lotta points, so this could either be really interesting or could be a blowout in favor of either one of you. And hell no, not giving away any secrets, lol.

Meanwhile, I meant to advance the league last night, but got tied up with a bunch of issues on here and also had to write two papers, so I'll do it tonight instead when I get off work. But the weekly Wednesday deadline will still stand just in the interest of keeping the league going.

We are now in Week 4. Good news is, the guy in control of the Chargers who neglected to play, still came away with a win, albeit only a 24-6 margin and his stats probably aren't up to par. Regardless, that's in line with the new policy: we move on every Wednesday, no matter what. Only exceptions will be made for special cases in advance, but my buddy was notified four times and even got an extra night (today) by accident. Guy didn't play, guy took his chances and got lucky.

This week, we got two user-vs-user games (J-Man vs. my best friend, myself vs. RavenRage92) and the rest are CPU games (Marc2k6 is on a bye week) so this is where we start to get in the thick of things now.

Remember guys, again, deadline to finish every week's slate of games is every Wednesday by approximately 9PM EST.

You were my toughest challenge lately...until the 4th quarter anyway, lol. I'm still pissed about that Dawan Landry pick...never should've happened, the middle was wide-open!...

And I'm mad that I couldn't run on you until the 4th quarter...I could've just gone with shotgun the whole time since it seemed to work, but I'm all about ball control and forcing you to make mistakes. I forced you to make 5 of them tonight.

The only reason it was close untilthe end was b/c you played normally. No going for it on 4th and 8, run most of the time on 1st down. No sprinting rollouts to the sideline or incessant FB dives. I just could not for the life of me figure out how to defend those 8-12yd passes to the TE and slot receiver.I also couldnt get kelleywashington to run the correct route if it killed him, lol.

yeah, and my only real gripe with that game was the Ray rice fumble. Im like,whats the point of having a button to cover the ball if you do it and the ball still flies out and goes about 10yd across the field lol. I put willis right in and he broke off two 10yd runs. Should thoughtof that sooner, lol.

I tell u what Im a streaky SOB in this game. I started out 0-7, then won 10 straight, now ive gone 1-12 since that win streak.

I hate cheap players, so I don't play cheap. If you'll notice, the FB Dive only came with 2-yards or less to reach; the D-Line is actually smart enough to snuff it out if it's used too early or in the wrong situation. I remember the only time I rolled out was because the pocket collapsed like WHOA and I had a receiver open between your safety and LB and it was a HUGE window...and then your safety had to come up and bat it down.

I knew if I was persistent with the run, it would pay off eventually. Too bad it wasn't until the fourth quarter -- you were killing me with all the batted passes on the outside because freaking Jason Campbell could never get the ball off fast enough. Not playing with the Redskins again for awhile...
