Madden 10 PS3 Online Franchise Thread

Alright, since I'm seeing spammers invade our board, I figure I'd set an "official" one up for this message board for the PS3 version of the game.

As of right now, I'm trying to gauge interest. So...who's in?

Game Skill Level: All-Pro
Quarter Length: 10 minutes (15-second accelerated clock) -- games will typically be a real-time hour in length.
Injuries/Fatigue/Weather: All ON
Trading: On -- between user-controlled teams ONLY

[b]The activation code for Online Franchise Mode is ON THE BACK OF THE MANUAL![/b] I repeat, you DO NOT need to purchase the DLC Code if you have a new copy of the game! (That DLC is only for people who rented or bought a used copy; each code on each manual is to be used only once)

[/s]EDIT: Registration has been closed so the league will remain private with the members who have already signed up, in the interest of fairness. I may consider opening up registration again once the first season is finished if interest is still there.

I'd like to hopefully get this started VERY SOON. If we get enough participants (we'll say 8 people, minimum), we can get the ball rolling by tomorrow night... *fingers crossed*

Also, if you guys could possibly find other PS3 users who are interested, I might consider letting them in as well. It'll still be a private league, but if we're all with friends, it's fine. I'm already letting my cousin in once he gets his copy.

Alright, we're up to 6 people...I might either go ahead and set it up tonight w/ the pass initially so you guys get your pick of teams, and then open it up publicly later.

And it looks like we'll be doing default rosters on All-Pro difficulty, something like 8-10 minute quarters with the 15-second accelerated clock so that games don't take forever but there's still adequate time to get accurate stats.

For Madden 10 online Franchise you have to activate a franchise account. There is a code on the back of your Madden 10 book you can use to activate it for free.

Don't worry, you're in the same boat as my cousin. He hasn't really picked up Madden on a regular basis since the PS2 days, so he's way behind on the curve. But, the league info is all up in the first post, so whenever you're ready.

Also note that it's entirely possible to jump into the franchise even mid-season. Granted, you'd be at a huge disadvantage since game results from the previous weeks still count and most of the good free agents are taken, but this will hopefully be a multi-year league (if we're all active enough) so redemption is still in the cards!

I was really busy yesterday, but if you're booked against a CPU team that NO ONE has claimed in this thread, then go ahead and play the game. I think I changed my mind and I'll keep it at just 8 of us because to have 24 other people we don't know is a pain in the ******. Plus, we'll all probably end up playing each other in the playoffs anyway.

The activation code is on the back of the manual that came with your game. If you don't have your manual anymore (or you rented or bought a used copy) you'll have to pay for the code. It's a $10 download.

Man, All-Pro is too easy. I killed the Browns. Favre threw like 7 TD's.

All-Pro is the highest difficulty that you can set it to online without paying extra (stupid, I know.) It's also standard for ranked matches anyway, so I figured we might as well keep with that standard. It'll be interesting when we get some head-to-head games going...

Guys, don't forget to mark yourself as ready (hit X over your name in the list of owners, then select Ready) so I know when to advance all of us to the next week's slate of games.

And that's exactly why I think I'm not gonna open it to the public after all. I'll just keep the password on and keep it to us guys.

I figure, it'd be quicker if it's just the 7 or 8 of us and we play most of the season at our own pace and have only a few head-to-head games (namely the playoffs.) By having fewer human players, this increases our chances of us all making the playoffs (thereby making things more competitive amongst ourselves) and increases the likelihood of us completing a season much quicker so we can move onto the next.

There's only a couple of games yet to be played, and I'll contact everyone about finishing their games by the end of this weekend so we can advance to Week 2. Ideally, we'd like to get an in-game week finished by the end of each week AT MOST. Otherwise, the faster we can progress, the better.

I think Ive just about had it with this game. The ways DBs can contort their bodies in unnatural ways to pick off every conceivable pass is just confounding. Then when Im on defense they all fall down... 0-8 and still trying.

If you are new to playing the game you just have to take your time and you will get used to the way the game plays.

For the record, we're still waiting on ONE player to finish his game (I've already talked to him about it) and then we're good for Week 2.

Hoping to advance it to Week 2 by Tuesday. If not, then oh well, we have to move on regardless.
